Any update on this Swiss? Very interesting case study.
It's a shame about all the people complaining about the morals behind this study cluttering up the thread *news flash* people do bad stuff.

at:
1. Who cares if it's his friend or not - if this was being done to my site, whatever, I'd ride it and learn but until it does I'll not worry about it, life is too short to worry about every single "if", "but" or "maybe".
2. It's awesome he's shared the results (albeit a while ago now) it's a case study to learn from
3. If the people that all think it's "bad" or "karma" will sort this out, hope you all enjoy your 9-5 jobs
4. When there is money to be made, people will do anything. This should be learned early on in your IM career
I am not condoning everyone does neg SEO to try and get one over on your competition, but it happens... that's life, if it can be done, someone will do it. This case study showed (up to the last post) that it does have some affect in the SERPS, but bounced back stronger (in some areas) That's something to take away.
I'm sure some of the people complaining in this thread downloaded a "free" (should be licensed version) of software. Double standards perhaps?
Bad stuff happens. Fact of life.
Learn and prosper.
