[Case Study] Reviving / Ranking Aged Algo-Penalized Websites with AI Content

As you can see, only 4 keywords are currently indexed/ranked on Page 4+. Before all keywords were #1-3. But Google decided to devalue the website and sent it to oblivion. Let's see if the freshly added content and so on if going to have any impact or if the site is lost forever.

Most keywords are stuck at positions 30-50 on site B.


Hypothesis:

The articles, the velocity of published articles, and massive social sharing will remove the Algo penalty and improve the rankings.

I have to say beforehand: In 2020 I did something similar, but just for one website. The website had an algo penalty, and articles + social sharing brought it back. This was in 2020. I am not sure if this still works, or if this has any effects at all.

What am I going to do?

I use a private Python script to automatically publish articles (around 4 articles per day, 100 articles in total) using OpenAI GPT-3.
The Python script is retrieving keywords from an excel list and images from a local folder. So basically the script is publishing an article (700-1000 words) for every keyword. The articles all have to do with the niche of the websites, so no random articles.

Here is a twist that I could think make the difference: I am using Blog2Social to automatically share the articles. With the premium version (I signed up for 30 days trial) you can add 15 accounts per network.

I added:
- 5 Facebook pages
- 15 expired Tumblrs with 60+ DA/PA
- 15 aged Blogger
- 5 Pinterest accounts
- 1x Twitter
- 1x Instapaper
- 1x Diigo

This will help the articles to get indexed and maybe also some authority.

For indexing, I will use GSA SEO Indexer (already got that software, so lets see), if it doesn't work well, I will switch to Speed Links.


Setup:

Python script I programmed
Indexer (I use GSA SEO Indexer, but I might switch to Speed Links)

WP Plugins:

Blog2Social (30 days trial premium)
Yoast SEO Premium
Link Whisper Pro
Inline Related Posts Pro

I am not certain why you are doing this. In fact, this can doom your site all by itself, regardless of how useful are the other tactics. Why would you force an index of your own site with such tool?

P.S. How are you sending to wordpress a post with python? Do you know a good github script? I can't seem to get it to post a plain text post from local terminal to my VPS wordpress. any suggestions or plugins or repos? Thanks!

From my experience the Google crawler takes a lot of time to index new pages these days...I will manually check if the articles are being indexed, if they are not indexed after a few days, I will use these tools. But normally sharing them on the social media sites should index them.


I am using the Wordpress REST api. I didn't use any Github script, I wrote/edited it myself. Make sure you have Jetpack plugin installed on Wordpress.
