This. In my experience, the more aged the backlinks and domain, the faster you'll see results with 301. I did it with a website of mine that got slapped by penguin 3.0 and got rankings within a week. No big keywords yet, but i'm redirecting another domain to it with sape to see how it fares.

What I did:
The site had around 70 articles, and i 301 the WHOLE thing to a parasite. The parasite was optimized for 2 most important keywords, and is starting to get longtail traffic right now. I've done it before to a fresh domain, but the parasite is quicker, i assume that's because of the domain authority (PR8).

another thing i did was to buy expired domains that have links from mashable, venturebeat, techcrunch, etc (a lot of BSTs selling these nowadays), and use those authority pages as tier 2s. reasoning: a venturebeat/techcrunch inner page is more likely to be strong enough to take punishment from the lowest of the lowest spam (blog comments, trackbacks, forum profiles etc)

i then 301 redirect the domain spammed with this funky, greasy, dirty spam to the parasite. and the sape is added to this domain, not straight to $ite.

then i watch what happens and to stabilize rankings i add more pigshit spam direct to the parasite to stabilize it. with this method i'm hoping that the venturebeat/techcrunch/mashable inner pages will sort of "launder" the linkjuice from the pigshit, slimy spam and will come out the other end as safe, drinkable linkjuice.

it's harder to do this with brand new domains, there seems to be more filters in place for them now.

or you can just buy a pr domain and redirect, but PR hasn't been updated for a while so you won't be able to account for link loss (yes, high PR domains aren't immune to link loss)

keep up your case study man, i'll keep an eye on this thread. not many interesting discussions are happening right now, i guess because those in the know are too busy banking and those who don't know are busy sucking matt cutts off. case studies like this are what keeps things interesting. all the best, mate!
