Agreed - but I try and not push the boundaries when it comes to Google.. so having a raft of high PR sites with massive link juice linking back to your site .... I try and do that only after a bit of other backlinking has occurred.

But I suppose it is each to their own - there is no 1 guaranteed linking strategy that will bring you the best results - I like to think of it like a recipe - there are tons of recipes out there that will get the same end results...

Some mighht add salt and pepper - some do not... some use organic products etc - and I suppose that is the same with your linking profiles..
