[Case Study] - Pure White Hat - No Backlinks : Zero Traffic even after months!

Either you a being duplicitous, your site is not quality and it is stuck in the supplemental index, or the site is not indexed at all.

No duplicate content, all unique, everything is indexed and well, supplemental index? Officially there isnt something like this anymore. Do you have any info on that?

I have done a similar case study the past 6 months.
I have almost zero traffic but I'm ranking top 20 with lots of high/medium competition keywords.
Next step is building links!

ok, that sounds much more interesting. how many articles did you write and how many words do they have?

Use this operator in Google, any pages that result are in the supplemental index.

Code:
site:www.yoursite.com ***-view

According to this even ebay's site is 40% in the supplemental index, lol

I use at least 15.000 words

1x 3000 on the homepage
3x +1500 on keywordpages
15x +500 on subkeywordpages
+ Blogposts articles

the person who published that "query" has the title of "Servant of God at Light of Jesus Family" ..What were you expecting?

its just searching the pages of "yoursite.com" with the word "view"

supplemental index was supposed to have pages which Google deemed as less important. The only way to find those pages now is doing site:yoursite.com and go to the last page of Google SERP's. Where it says

"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 54 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."

the pages you see after clicking that are termed as the weakest pages of your website. Google either consider them duplicate or less important.

You still need to do linking so Google will actually find your website. There is no way Google will index and credit your website without any links. White-hat links can be from your Facebook profile, or twitter profile. It does not mean zero links

I guess The component of whitehat that you are missing is getting involved in the community around your niche.
You need to do that part, present your articles to community and so on, in order to get people reading, talking about them and linking to them.

That would help a lot if your articles are authoritative.

But aside from that, of course a bit of BH SEO would get you much further much faster :-)

Building backlinks is only "black hat" if you're building do-follow backlinks with the intention of manipulating your rankings. You can still build no-follow inbound links on social media websites to get traffic since these do not affect rankings (but they can lead to people naturally backlinking to your website if they have a relevant website).

LOL I didnt know nofollow links were white hat and ******** links are blackhat

The point of "no backlink" online marketing is to share the content somehow so people leave natural backlinks. So technically you're supposed to get backlinks, but not build them yourself. Your content needs to be so helpful to the user that they can't help but link to you.

its possible though to get a little traffic from no backlinks at all if your site is old and big enough.. but maybe only like 5-10 visitors a day. Try writing an article for a longtail that only has 20-50 searches a month or less and you will see it

are the articles original, readable and interesting for your visitors? I think if you had made good quality articles, you shoulda a lot of visitors

i think social interaction is the thing which was needed Lots of Retweets, facebook page posting on groups, pinterest and other social networking sites would have help you in gaining good amount of traffic

No, you misconstrued my original post (although I did make it sound as if those were absolutes). If all do-follow links, including those that were naturally placed, were "black hat", then nearly every website would be violating the Google Webmaster Guidelines. :)

Bingo! You understood what I meant.

See? Now you have to buy Adwords. That's what "white hat SEO" is all about.

That one had me dying. From our experience we haven't done any SEO and already rank decent for our product.
We have of course setup our social networks, though no other SEO or built backlinks and we get some decent traffic to our new beta site.
Nothing spectacular, but its a start. I would say definitely focus on the on-site related items and social activity/widgets/etc.

do a proper On page with keyword analysis of your site apart from this try to go for the forums and other link building idea that are mention above from the fellow members

I am trying the something, i don't know what will happen. Just writing and waiting
