Hey guys,

This is my first case study of this sort, and I'll be keeping it updated regularly. Full disclaimer before hand; I have been given a free copy of this package, and in exchange am running a public case study. Aside from that, I have no affiliation with the service, and will be reporting my honest results. This is the service being tested here:

Okay, so entri3 will be running the "Operation Lam Son" package on a site of mine. Just to give you a run down of my site.

Domain Age: Roughly 5 months
Domain PR: PR4
Indexed Pages: 65 (all unique content)

I will be targeting two keywords with this package. First keyword is targeting the main domain, second keyword is targeting an inner page. See below for more info. For some reason, Market Samurai is acting up and showing some incorrect info (such as my websites number of indexed pages, and my websites PR).

Keyword 1 (inner page)

Current Ranking: #2
Exact Match Local Searches: 2900
CPC: $3.69

Current Ranking: #8
Exact Match Local Searches: 4400
CPC: $3.90

Yup, I have been targeting both these keywords for the past 4 months. They are quite competitive. Blog posts, web 2.0's, all of that good stuff.
 
Perfect! I've been thinking of trying Lam Son for a while and suddenly I find not one but TWO case study threads on it, haha. Looking forward to seeing the results.
 
Is your website at #8 in market samurai in the above screenshots? You don't have the keyword in the description, it seems.

Thanks for pointing that out, didn't even notice it. I should fix that before entri3 gets started :)

Since you're on the first page already it shouldn't make much of a difference in your rankings. But it'll affect the CTR probably.

You don't have the keyword in the url either. Is it a mini-niche site?

The interesting question is also what services you used prior to buying operation lam son, as that would probably shed more light upon what exactly you archived and what you will archive. Care to tell what specifics you used?

Yeah, you're definitely right about it affecting CTR.

Nope, this is actually a fairly large site of mine. Quite an authority in its niche.

Great point. To be honest though, I've used a few services specifically for these 2 keywords.

- jstovers monthly SEO
- private blog posts
- wiki links
- etc..

As for the private blog posts, wiki links, etc.. I honestly wouldn't be able to say which packages/from who I ordered, due to the fact that I've ordered quite a few over the last 5 months. I'd say jstovers monthly SEO has been a huge part of my campaign for these 2 keywords.
 
Quite a few meaning 10+ packages?

The reason to why I am asking is to know what actually makes the big difference in ranking investment wise. If ranking always proves to be possible on page 1 after 10 packages we have a figure of investment for all projects with the same keyword difficulty.

I guess I want to say that I would like to find a ballpark figure for ranking "well" Makes it easier to sell to clients.
 
It will be interesting to see how this pans out. I think Market Samurai indexing totals are from Bing now.

The only doubts I have about case studies like this is that the service providers sees it and may give a little extra, to push through better results. They'd have to be nuts to provide a shite service to a member like yourself and with so many watching it.

I can see entri in his office now screaming at his staff .... "hey people drop everything, thedon is on our case and I want this guy to get no1, no excuses people, lets do it, rah rah rah" :D

I wonder if a case study might be better run without any notice, then published a couple of months later. Anyway, subscribed.
 
That service definitely isn't shit. The diversity is great, and the amount is OK for the price, but that's only because we've all become cheapskates.

So you're targeting the main keyword with your homepage and it's a partial match domain?

In fairness maybe it isn't the best idea to change it now, or if you do change it now give it a week or so before starting the SEO to ensure we don't think the SEO service caused an increase in SERP that could have simply been attributed to putting the keyword in description.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

I like case studies, so long as the service provider isn't going to make it 'extra special' given that it is a public review.

I have looked at the service before and felt it was a bit pricey - but if results are good then I may jump on board.
