As I type this I am attempting to begin offline marketing for CPA leads. This particular case study is to see local conversion rate based off of location of advertisement. I am starting this small with only 60 participants (they don't know it yet) in which I will be giving them a chance for free groceries. I am using one single advertisement type and am wondering the chance of conversion. It is basic text with one image (no colorfulness). I'm printing the ads right now and going to my local food market to post on cars in specific locations. Regardless I am wondering what kind of success I will find. Here we go gents.

Okay update time. With the simple ad that I placed I received 3 clicks and therefore 3 pending conversions.

    3/60 = 5% Conversion Possible

I used a simple text ad with a cartoon-esque image. If these convert then I would definitely be making a huge positive ROI.

As of now I used 10 pieces of paper with 6 ads on each.
    Cost > $.10
Possible gain 0 to ~6 USD.

Nothing big but a great start.

Seeing as some people actually do follow through I am now investing my time in creating a larger scale offline attempt

    300 ads (50 pages) x 5 different CPA offers (email/zip)

Potential gain- ~3600 USD (perfect conversion- <90%)
Based on trial run ~150 USD

Cost- 27 USD , Some sweat, papercuts, personal time, etc.

    Let us see.

I think you should continue testing your advertisement with the 60 advertisements test as you did before. trying different ad displays.

3 out of 60 is terrible, your ad sucks and you can do better.

Very true. Make the viewer feel like they NEED it. Present some value.
Of course your overhead will be a bit higher, but you'll ultimately have a higher conversion rate. UNLESS the landing page is just complete shit.

i did a similar thing with walmart on a saturday afternoon. Had some business cards made up (1000) promoting a $25 walmart gift card for groceries, outsourced the work on CL for $25..ended up costing me $75 to get it rolling, but i made $120 for the weekend, not bad. You just have to be creative.

3 out of 60 is acceptable to me when anything is pure profit.
Anyways I am redesigning advertisements and seeing where it takes me.

I would definitely improve your ads before going mass. I would do samples of a few hundred for a few different ads and see what converts. Keep up with this thread, its very interesting!

    I'm subscribing to this...

I think someone should donate their professional flyer creating skills to this man. Something that looks good in black and white to save $$ on printer ink costs. I know someone has some free time and artistic ability.

You are an inspiration my friend. I know people have mentioned doing this or planned to do it, but I have yet to see anyone do a case study on their out come.

    Thank you.

Thanks man. I am just investing a little bit to see if it could possible make a buck or two. I figured there really isnt any empirical data on this research so hell I'll let you all follow suit if you think you could be successful in flier marketing.

I am eventually going to get higher quality ads and emds (for redirection) for easier access. However i think this is just a fun experiment for me and cpa marketing.
