Case Study- Offline clients, ecommerce, websites

Hi everyone

I have lived on this forum for 1 solid month trying to get some info on what i need to do and try and sort out the sales pitches from the real helpful posts. I need about $3000 a month to pay my bills at the moment so i need to hit the ground running. I have decent web design skills but very basic seo skills if none at all.

Here goes:

I am starting this seo full time now. At the moment I have 3 local business wanting seo, my own ecommerce website that i want to rank for and also a website that needs to rank for hundred of keywords.

1. The local business

I will not give specific details of where i live or website urls as the Big G might pick up on it or even you guys and smoke me. The local clients i have want ranked for keyword that are usually 3 to 4 words long and no of them would have even 1k a year searches never mind a day. from what i read on here i think good onpage seo and relevant content would nearly get them no1 with very minor backlinking for theses small searches. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

2. My ecommerce site

The site i have for ecommerce is a wp ecommerce site that i bought at themeforest. The kw i am going after is low comp and 3k a month search this will be my biggest challenge. I know some big guys on here would laugh at this small search size but i will be happy with No1 for this term and a few others with smaller searches. I will tell you the product is UK specific and i want to get to the top of google.co.uk nothing else. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

3. My website

I wont give much details on this site but i spent a year and a lot of money on it but it failed because i didn't have the right seo. This one could be tricky but i want to make it an authority site in my area and it needs to rank high for hundreds of keywords. Once again any questions or advice would be great.

I will try and update my case study every day as BHW is a great break from the grind and if i post something that will hurt my site or is wrong please step in and stop me.

local businesses seem to be a given that you should rank them easily, for those sort of searches the good fiverr gigs would get you there

pretty much the same for your ecommerce site, low search volume and I am assuming not high comp? if high comp then you would have to invest more, plus you should be deep linking the inner pages if there are other products for sale on the site

With regards the website, looks a more long term project, focus on 10 or so big kws a week and scales up as you have funds

All of this also depends on the budgets you have for each site

There is a long term service here for 10 kws that would rank you on page 1 for $200 a month, if thats in your budget go for it

kws can be changes as well so as you grow you can alternate kws

Yeah I have a lot of seo software but am afraid to use them to tell you the truth i can use market samurai without this fear but senuke, scrapebox and so on can do you more harm than good from what i read on here.

The local business i have started on this week with a whooping 7 (yes that right 7) exact searches a month. I also make the pages for the local customers wp basic sites and have wp plugin yoast to help with the seo.

On the fiverr thing got an article made on iwriter and the sent to a guy on fiverr to make 1500 tier 2 backlinks but it doesn't seem to have kicked in yet. 3 - 4 days since completion on fiverr but no movement on SERP.

try a drip feed on the backlinks too

for the ecommerce website i am worried that the top site i am trying to push off is 11 years old and has a ball of backlinks. Read on here recently about high pr blog network taking a hit but what strategy would you recommend. I have the money to outsource but would like to learn the ins and outs of the process first.

I get the unique article and creating web 2.0 sites linking to the money site. On the web2.0 sites do i need a unique article on each or a spun article for each. I read also to vary the anchor text that is (click here, look at this site and so on).

Now wikis, social bookmarking, pings are all very fuzzy to me should i worry about them?

So here it is Day 1 of the case study

I am concentrating on one of my offlines clients website this week. I will not upload the url but i can pm you it if you want to offer help or constructed criticism just ask.

All i done was get 3 articles of iwriter on his topic and uploaded one to the site and sent the other one's to the guy on fiverr to uploading it to 15 WordPress tier 1 sites, I also ordered edu backlinks.

I am using Yoast for onpage seo but some things on the plugin go over my head. Quick questions do the articles of the 15 web2.0 sites need to unique from each other and the money site?
