[Case Study] Niche blog with unique content

I guess this is a case study, correct me if I'm wrong.

I will be testing how unique, but generic content, in a niche, as well as highly searched keywords can bring in revenue. This is just an experiment as to how fast and how much $ a simple blog with unique content can make, if any. Suggestions are of course welcome.

Here is what I will be doing:

- Blogging through Wordpress
- 2-4 articles per week, maybe more once things start rolling
- Using four keywords with no less than 100k monthly searches (I will be starting off with the highest monthly searches including related keywords). Each keyword will be used at least four times in an article of around 200-300 words.
- An image with each article to entice readership, and repeat visitors. (not required but will do my best to get them in there)
- At least 5 backlinks per day.

If it is even remotely successful. Scale, scale, scale. Otherwise I might sell the mediocre website on flippa.



DAY 1:

-Buy Domain
-Setup Wordpress and plugins
-Start on creating and programming generic but unique theme. This part I'm not worried about too much, since this is more about the content. The theme can always be improved later.

Generic content isn't really a good word for what I'm creating, but it's not superb or news-worthy, because it's just generic article blogging.

The domain is pretty decent. It's short and containing a niche keyword, so hopefully that will ease the process.

Day 2:

-I also posted two articles on Day 1.
-Internally linked the articles to high traffic news articles.
-Backlinked about 5-10 links, which included jumptags.
-Pinged the universe
-hooked into google analytics and google webmaster tools. Submitted the sitemap
-looking for better ways to boost seo and traffic

-The homepage is indexed but with old info because I've had a static page up for a good month or so. No other pages appear on google yet.
-Unique visitors: 1 --Myself

Good start. I think you should follow Onpage SEO as after panda update.
First, 200-300 word articles is not sufficient, it must be 700-800 words for effective SEO.
And if you are using highly competative keywords, then it required much
more Off Page SEO efforts. Get all types of backlinks instead of one & indexing
of them is also important.
