[CASE STUDY] How will a 301 Redirect affect my website?!

I generally redirect the inner pages to my new website homepage as well instead of creating a live page. I'm genuinely asking, am I missing something?

I haven't updated the thread because the site got HIT BY GOOGLE UPDATE. It was going well at the beginning, but the Updates killed it.

The site has lost more than 80% of its traffic. (From 180 UVs/day dropped to 20-30).

Seems like the number of visitors started to increase after the latest google update might be just a SERP dance and is early to come up with a conclusion.

Damn that is hard. Sometimes a redirect can kill you, try removing it
I was not the redirect that mutilated the traffic but the Google update.

WE DEMAND UPDATES :anyway:

I sold the site a few months ago. When I sold it was at 100 UVs/day.

The buyer has increased it to 300/day.
Oof. So what's your ultimate verdict in terms of the redirect?
Did the keywords associated with the 301 pages see any positive movements?
Did the buyer acquire the 301 redirect site too?

TBH KW started moving in the beginning. It happened that Google made an update and many sites got affected including my site.
I don't think I can give a final verdict because the site got hit by the update and I couldn't see the natural effect of the 301.

Did the keywords associated with the 301 pages see any positive movements?

Did the buyer acquire the 301 redirect site too?

Yes he did.

I cannot say with confidence about what works today in the blogging/SEO industry but I can confidently say redirects worked like a charm in the CPA niche 3-4 years ago when I was a big shot in that field.
Used to rank naked generator LPs (no article funnel pages or such bullshit) for highly competitive keywords like free robux, amazon gift cards, and cash app money generator ,etc with expired domain redirects regardless of niche.
