It's generally known that content that's duplicated numerous times is more difficult to rank than unique content, and some people say that the original article will not get any sort of a penalty while all of the new ones will.
Though, i've seen people use duplicate content AND rank pretty well with it, I've also seen people talk about ranking higher than the pages they stole the content from.
There have also been people spamming other peoples content with crappy links, some have succeeded in ruining their ranks while other times either nothing happens or the target site gets stronger.
So obviously, noone really knows exactly what will happen, as people experience all sorts of results.
I'm aiming to do a case study on a solid site, using an exact copy of the content WITHOUT linking to that site in any way, this way the only things that can happen are either nothing or a drop in rank as google devalues the content, so i expect one of a few things to happen;
1) Simply nothing will happen.
2) There will be some degree of ranking drop.
I'm currently gathering up as many AA blogs and setting SeNukeX to create as many accounts as possible, and also trying to gather as many directories for AMR as possible to blast this content out within the next week (hopefully).
Why did i start this thread now? I was considering spending some money on this case study, and have found a fair few services in the BST that would be good for this (article distribution etc), but thought i might see if anyone is interested in helping out blast this content around before i invest in something that isn't going to bring in any sales.
If you have a subscription to any article syndication system that posts articles to thousands of blogs/directories, Or if there's anything you can do to get a piece of content out on a large number of sites (scrapebox/xrumer included), would it be possible for you to help out and make atleast a single submission? Please post here and i'll get back to you when ready if you can.
I think we can make a greater case study if we pool resources together.
I'll blast out 2/3 articles without links, and split up each article into separate paragraphs to blast via Scrapebox and hopefully be able to do it on a large enough scale to be able to have an effect (that is ofcourse, if that is possible).
