Just removed 500+ domains that were linking to my site with 1 backlink. Most spammy sites from blog comments or bookmark sites when I was still learning SEO. Will let you guys know the outcome weeky. I made sure to keep the good links of course. I believe in quality of backlinks over quantity, and from what I've seen this is the solution.

when i did this i got de repped for even mentioning it, but then again if my site comes back thats the more important than some reputation on here!

I did this myself. I had lots of comment spam from individual sites with hundreds of backlinks containing exact anchors. I disavowed loads of them. The only impact since has been positive rankings.

Sounds interesting. My prediction is that your rankings will improve.

I know it will make a lot of people upset, especially professional SEOs and link builders, but I don't expect Google to punish anyone for using the tool.
