Case Study Comparision between Scrapebox Link Checker vs Turbo Ranker Backlink Checker

I usually use scrapebox backlink checker to weed out the dead links from my seo campaign output before sending links for indexing. Today I decided to try turbo ranker backlink checket and results were quite pleasant.

So I decided to check the efficiency of both the tools for same links file. Both are free tools.

Sample link file had 401 URLs (where my backlink was placed).
Thread count for both tools: 10

Scrapebox tool found results: 117
Turbo Ranker found results: 166

I manually tested the links that scrapebox failed to report as live but TBR reported as found and I could verify them as live links in my browser.

I think TBR link checker is more efficient.

Thanks for this post. That's a 49 link difference which is quite a large amount of links to forget about.

TBR has an edge there too.

The only downside with TBR link checker is that it need .net framework 4.5.
So it cannot run on windows XP.

OP, the 2010 version of the free link checker you are using has an old default useragent which is blocked by a number of server scripts. So it's not that it can't find links, but it's being blocked from loading the pages as seen by all the 403 errors in your screenshot.

Please make sure you use Free Link Checker v1.4.0.1 http://www.scrapebox.com/free-link-checker

Here are trhe test with latest version of both the tool.
I run the same sample file with both the tools again today.
Links reported by Scrapebox backlink checker: 150
Links reported by Turboranker link checker: 155
Not much a difference.

Thanks for retesting it, that's a much better outcome. I guess the 5 URL's that were different were not found due to some sort of error like a 404 or Timeout?

I think your tool cannot check the backlinks with https.
Try to check for link in any article posted on storify.
