I've noticed that you spent over $800 on your authority website and you outsourced low competition keywords and it's been almost 2 months and you're having problems with rankings... I've started my new authority website month ago and without any off-site SEO, just on-site SEO I managed to hit top 100 for some keywords with over 50k monthly searches... So, Im guessing what is wrong with your low competition keywords and great outsourced content... You should already hit 1st 10 pages of google for many long-tail keywords and for some of your main keywords...

As of right now my links are back on page four, two of them to the site. It's a slow and steady race, but I'm not overly concerned or rushing it by any means.

I have one main keyword, and I am ranking page four twice. For one of my longtail keywords I'm top of page three. I didn't really do any solid longtail keyword research, though. I'm sure that could be one of my traffic-related issues.

I saw that you've lost some likes. Could you please see from which countries are your likes? If the likes are from tier 3 countries, you may see some decreasing even if it's from paid advertisement. Also, what is the target audience for the advertisements? If the people are not interested in your niche, chances are, that they will unlike your page.

Target audience is broad range 25-60 age group females with interests in the general direction of my niche.

I have that issue as well. I am not actually sure if it is a delay or some sort of bug that you actually have to unfollow them a second time. To be quite honest I am not really sure if unfollowing is actually necessary. Looks neater though and I guess you would care

Is there any chance that you will give up and do something else that is gonna make you money quicker than this ?I feel bad for you that you spent a lot of time, money and energy on this but nothing to bring back home

Don't feel bad at all. I'm in this for the long haul, and already make more than enough money to keep myself, my wife, and my dog satisfied. See signature. I'm not looking for fast returns, but more of the passive route for years to come.

Check for which long-tail keywords you're getting traffic... sometimes long-tail keywords can be more profitable than your main keyword and they can drive you huge amount of traffic... especially if you have many articles on your site... good luck!

This can prove to be a very helpful journey.

As a newbie, I specifically find the "Hands-on" parts helpful, If i missed a good source of this type of step-by-step instructions anyone can point me to i thank you in advanced.

Sherbert, More hands-on please, for example on page 2 you explain the content writer is asking all the right questions, maybe you can expand on that.

And lastly, I assume you expect the authority site to at minimum make you $100 daily. By what date do you expect this to start, and around what number you expect to spend to reach that profitability level?

My hope is to achieve my first 100-visitor day by April, and continue to hit that mark as the site progresses. Making drips here and there from AdSense, and although I'm still massively in the red, it is nice to see some money coming in. Hope. Gained five new Facebook fans. I wonder if that has anything to do with the postings I did? Also my site is back in the SERPs and as strong as ever. I had an interaction on my page with a woman from the US who only spoke Spanish. It was good to show that my site is multicultural

HANDS-ON

Here we go!

Step one. Pinterest. I had grown another 11 followers, so I went to one of the most popular accounts in my broad niche topic and followed 100 more accounts. In this process, I learned that a lot of their 50k+ followers were fake. How about that? When i was done following, I had already gained another two followers. Good sign. Moving on.

Step two. Twitter. Still gaining followers little by little, even without doing any following at all yesterday. I took a different tactic and found a small local nail salon with around 120 followers, and I followed all of them. Let's see how it plays out. Again, I want to be gentle with Twitter. That's it. One of the automated tweets should be sending around 8am. I'll have another one following suit later in the day with a blog/site update.

Step three. Facebook. I did the same deal as yesterday, adding five comments to relatively popular, relatively new links shared on relevant pages.Then I added three comments on more broad range topics. Let's see how that holds up.

Step four. Blog post. I received a PM a few days ago from BHW member knowledge to see if I needed any additional content. I said why not and requested a 1,000-word article on my niche. He delivered within 24 hours or so a perfectly-written post that was unique and riveting for my niche, and went 400 words OVER the 1,000 word count to do it. I'm not sure if he will be opening a BST thread any time soon, but I highly recommend his content services. They are on-par with $10 per 100 words content creators I have seen and used in the past.

I added the post, added in a bulleted list of some other recommended posts, as well as a paragraph about a couple products and social media links at the end. The article ended at 1,603 words. I added a quality image and alt/description information, and posted. Then I pinned it to my regular Pinterest board, added it to Facebook, and added it to Twitter, all with a stellar matching image to go along with it.

Step five. Subreddit. I found five links that were ranking lower than me for my search term. I alternated between those five links and the five most recent large-scale articles from my site when submitting to the subreddit to keep it from looking TOO spammy. Sitting at eight whole subscribers currently.

The KnowEm social media work I am pushing off until tomorrow. That's it for today! I know it seems like a lot of work, but honestly, it was about 45 minutes, spread out across a few hours in between other projects. Then ten minutes to write this all up.

PLANS

Tomorrow will be more Pinterest and Twitter work, and another two article rewrites. One of these articles will go on the website immediately. The other one will go exclusively on one of the social media outlets I have created, with a link back to the website and sharing on my high-profile social accounts. Then I'll grab some more exact match social media profiles. I'll also hit some more Facebook comments from the fan page.

Friday I will take a break from writing and focus on enhancements to the Tumblr, micro niche site, and social networks, and post a few comments of my own from that list of comment-enabled blog posts ranking higher than my site for my search term. See if I can obtain some links back. I'll also hit some more Facebook comments from the fan page.

Saturday I will have some time available, so I plan on narrating five or so of the blog posts, adding that narration to SoundCloud, and a link to the website and vice versa. Gotta get that accessibility and multimedia game proper. I'm also going to do some research into providers of introductory videos. I'll also hit some more Facebook comments from the fan page.

Like 200+ of them. Cool beans. That was it for now. A tweet will be going out around 8am advertising one of the product reviews. My twitter traffic has been horrendous. Let?s see if I can turn that around.

Step two. Pinterest. Got a ton of new followers yesterday (21), and things are starting to take off. I went back to that same account I had followed from yesterday and followed another whopping 250 people while I let another automated service for my day job run in the background. Let?s see what kind of results I can get from that by tomorrow. My Pinterest traffic has been lacking lately, so I have a nice stretch goal to bet at at least 1,000 Pinterest followers by the end of April. Hopefully more, though.

Step three. Facebook time. I posted an ?ad? to a 100k+ Facebook group, one to a 9k+ group, and another to a 3.2k Facebook group. None of these groups had been updated in a while, but why not give it a shot, right? Then I spammed that same message from the Facebook groups to 20 slightly relevant videos/posts on Facebook. Some were as far back as 2014, but had a TON of views (1m+), so no harm no foul.

Step four. Social media profiles. I had the subreddit for my exact match, but not the Reddit username, so I grabbed that. Took a whole thirty seconds to do. Then I set up a TypePad account. I know, nobody uses TypePad, but it?s a good place to drop a few links. I was able to get the exact match username, and include links to the site, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and MySpace. Then I made an account on LiveJournal as well with the exact match name, and completed the email verification. I created a user pic and added a link to the site, then connected the Twitter and set it to auto-post. I also connected the Tumblr as well. I left LiveJournal open, as this is where one of the articles is going to go. Then I signed up for Hubpages and verified my email there as well. I was able to add a profile image, a bio, and links to the website, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. The KnowEm search for larger social media was looking like this, with the taken usernames greyed out:

I opened up two of the articles from NatashaNixon and pasted one into Hubpages and one into LiveJournal. I edited the LiveJournal post, included a link to the site, and posted. It looked surprisingly nice! Then I checked to make sure it auto-Tweeted, and it sure did! Then I did the same with the Hubpages hub, but with a different article. I got lazy this time and didn?t change any of the text from the original NatashaNixon article. This way, I can still use the article on the site with my ridiculous edits being done to it and it will be so different that it won?t trigger as duplicate content.

I?m skipping writing an actual blog post today. I don?t want to churn through all of my new content in a couple weeks. I?ll do another one tomorrow, and dedicate a solid hour or two to work on this project in the evening as well. That?s it for today!

Really enjoyed reading this man. You cost me 1-2 hours of productivity, but it was fun.

I failed at my last "authority site" attempt. I stuck with my plan for maybe a month or two. I got discouraged and moved onto other things. I think the biggest risk in making a larger site like this is just that: quitting.

Here's to hoping that you stick with it.

As far as seo packages that I wish you would try, I would love to see you go for it with a package from d3tox: Kratos. I've been looking really hard at it. I understand your fear of a PBN, but this one is just so tempting. The dude knows what he's doing.

In my personal opinion, I really feel like you are wasting so much time with social media. If your site is basically a bunch of articles about someone else's products, I just don't think that you will be "banking" with trying to get a social media cult.

I'd love to see you spending that social media time on focusing on seo packages here. My two little cents anyways.

seriously man, you are in error. While it does depend on the niche (financial stuff is not exactly too SM friendly) google is, as far as I can tell, withdrawing very quickly from its pole position as content discovery machine #1. Especially for new sites it will be so much easier to bank through social media than through SEO, because the latter just takes so much more time (which doesn't mean to neglect it).

But there is more to it: I am not talking about social signals (i believe these are still a myth and current index data bases can't handle them properly) but more about branding and trust. Even if it is just a micro-niche site about the best dildo, you somehow need to get that girl to click on the affiliate link or buy your product. That is not gonna happen if you don't close the full circle - or less likely. It will, above all, look fishy because no serious website would skip social media these days willingly.

I just don't see an article site about a product gaining a real following. Sure, I get finding a few followers, but I think spending much time on socials with an article site is a waste of time.

Then again, in 1992 my undergrad senior papers was "How The Internet Will Not Impact Business", or something like that.

OP, ready for you to actually buy some promising seo packages.

Last time i checked coca cola had quite a following, and there are million of fan pages for apple product around Or take tripadvisor, who pretty much does only reviews.

I say: If there are people around willing to buy the product, then social media is always worth it. Might take different aproach (like humor, ie in case u r promoting sanitary towels, or knowledge).
If there aren't people enthusiastic enough about a product to actually buy it...well then the whole thing might be questioned in the first place
