Lurked around for quite a while now and decided to do things on my own. I'm starting a microniche MFA. Here's a breakdown so far:
    1. Knowledge niche, main keyword gets >1,000,000 searches every month.
    2. Competition is low (1st has PR 2 - 70 backlinks in site explorer) but there are 3 paid adverts and right column is full (this in search results)
    3. JustHost + non-EMD.com (I chose a short, brandable name - can easy outrank EMDs with proper SEO)
    4. Downloaded a free template from wordpress3themes.com, nulled it up, made a custom logo etc.
    5. I posted a fake recruitment ad on a very high-traffic jobs website, looking for article and documentation writers. Instructed them to send me 3 review articles, minimum 500 words with the title I chose. I got only 9 articles so far but they average on about 900 words so I broke down some of them; also it's barely been a day.
    6. The ad will run for a full month so hopefully it will keep supplying content.
    7. Submitted the domain with 1000 WhoIs backlinks, pinged all the links, site is now 74th in google for my keyword.
    8. Bought from fiverr: (still waiting for delivery)
    - 500 SB
    - 280 Angela-Paul
    - 240 High-PR

    Budget wasted so far:
    - $10 domain
    - $15 fiverr
    - 41.70 EUR JustHost
    - $0 content (woohoo)

Shoot me with questions, will keep this thread updated.
I plan to install Adsense whenever I hit 100 uniques / day. If by all means tomorrow I get 100 visitors from searches only, I will install Adsense right away.

    Hi,

First of all good luck with the site, however, here is a classic tip: make sure that those 1,000,000 searches are exact or broad, you have to go for exact.

If it really is exact, with that low competition, then congratulations, you've just found yourself a goldmine! :D

I don't use any special tools other than Adwords for keyword research (and pagerank info in Opera + siteexplorer).

This is how the main 3 keywords look like. Basically I'm also hoping for collateral keywords that I can easily rank for. Should be easy because I have genuine, relevant content to push myself up.

What I really rely on is the fact that Google Adsense does not deliver ads that are relevant to content. For logged-in users they use their search data, and this way if you ever google "cheap hosting" from then on, all the websites that you surf (and have adsense) will display hostgator ads.

Even at 1 ad clicks/day I will still be happy.

Unless I'm mistaken, the lack of square brackets around the search terms would indicate those to be 'broad' search results, not 'exact'.

Sure they are mate. OP is already started with a big mistake. But that was what we had been doing always at first times.

I understand. Exact matches for main keywords sum up to around 4000 and competition is the same (avg. PR 3-4 and < 100 backlinks in site explorer).

None of that matters though because I'm experimenting with a high CPC & at least 100 visitors / day.

Anyway, hoping we cleared that out, JustHost sucks and other than that, here's the website general look and feel:

Got my Angela-Paul, I'm 75th in Google for main keyword.

If I done the math right, worst case is all the niches and keywords covered get 0.1% of 1% of all local monthly searches, and 10% of all their corresponding CPCs; this whole eq still sums up to $183.70 per month so there's still some profit and ROI.

With that philosophy, I spent $10 more on fiverr for 2 linkwheels.
Now if I Google for "sitename.com" I get:
    Code:
    About 2,930 results
But still no climbing unfortunately, I lost the 73rd position and the site is dancing pretty bad. For now I will keep on posting content and next week (hoping shit will stabilize more) I'll try to get some high-PR backlinks and some more solid backlinks, like blog posts and such.

    Quick Update:

    About 5,530 backlinks
    1-3 uniques per day
    Still dancing for main keyword
    Highest-paying keyword ranks for 214

That's pretty funny. You post on a job web-site looking for people to write articles and ask for previous written articles- then turn around and use them? LOL. Hilarious.

Your problem is that you are on JustHost, so the moment you get any decent amount of traffic more than say 500 uv a day, they will suspend your site. It will be down for days, your site will be down when G crawls it, and you'll drop like a rock in the SERPS. At the very least you should have Hostgator baby plan, or get an even cheaper plan from somebody that resells Hostgator.

    Run far,far,far away from JustHost.

Interesting theory. Can you prove it?

Anyway this SEO thing beats the hell out of me.
    Backlinks dropped to 4,290.
44th for main keyword (and I just went ahead of a page from stanford university, how cool is that!)
    158th for hardest keyword

all microniche keywords are within the 100s results except for the one that I didn't SEO which is 103.
    WE ARE SOOOOO DOING THIS!!

I'ma let all the stuff summon properly for the next half of month. On the 1st of October I'll be buying 2-3 linkwheels and maybe a 10,000 comments blast and let it index naturally (without ping as I did this time).

With low competition you can probably rank pretty easily with an article blast and web2.0s. Just take those articles and spin them with spinnerchief and get the trial of magic submitter and blast them out a few times to WP, blogs and article sites, then buy backlinks on fiverr to those sites you make.

Most fiverr gigs don't increase rank that well so save yourself the money you will invest, get some free stuff and start making $$$. Sorry if that was too complex for ya.

Hey burrit0 thanks for your input.

I'm doing this with low money and no work just to make sure I can actually get a decent ranking inside a niche that's fairly competitive. The thing is, if I get this to run properly (and I mean making a website that's in fact useful to a larger group - as in contrast to microniches) I can consider scaling up in the future and building something bigger, more profitable, and with real money instead of $5 gigs.
