[Case Study] Beginning My IM Journey

ok I have got a nulled version of thesis 1.84 installed now just need some advice configuring the theme and there are a ton of options... Anyone have good parameters for a micro niche site?

been a couple of days but here is a pretty big update.
got thesis installed and configured to my current liking (plugins, privacy etc)
added 3, 500+ word articles these are pages
added one ~400 word post supporting on of the pages
submitted to open directory
site is indexed (early sample homepage b/c it took me a couple days to get the content up and the site designed)

no adsense yet will be applying tomorrow
will also add a new post and begin backlinking

my rough backlink strategy will be articles to the big directories, social bookmarks and social signals, youtube videos, scribd articles, slideshare content
 
daily update
scheduled a new supporting post to publish tomorrow
set up google analytic and webmaster tools
improved my on page seo
pinged site to try and get new content indexed (only indexed content is the hello which i deleted...)
rewrote one of my articles by hand and submitted to ezine articles
built some quick easy backlinks (whois, directory etc)
a few relevant manual blog comments

still trying to decide on a paid seo package if anyone has some recommendations (there are so many options in the bst!)

update:
submitted another ezine article (still waiting for approval on the one i submitted last night)
some more manual blog comments
waiting for fiverr gig to be completed

now ranking 68th for my keyword no real backlinking to speak of. I think this is due to my content being fully indexed now. I hope this means it will be easy to make page one once i start some more active linking.
 
good luck! and be aware that ranking takes a lot of time to change since Panda. I'm dancing since 2 weeks now :) Position 3, Position 4, Position 80, Position 3, ... :)
 
todays update:
added a new blog post
fiverr gig completed and I set links up in linklicious.me free account to get some indexed
still waiting on ezine articles to be approved
early today site had dropped out of top 100 now I'm ranking 29th, dancing i guess...
and 25 unique visits today

starting to get somewhere :D
 
update:
published new blog post and scheduled one to post tomorrow
my 3 ezine article have been approved and are now live
added a bunch of new images to my posts and pages
still waiting on fiverr gig to complete then will get serp explosion 2.0
added adsense

also should i be backlinking my ezine articles?
 
so my drip fed bookmarks just completed and I just ordered the SERP 2.0 explosion package
I am currently ranked 28th or main kw and 99th for a secondary
have ads live no clicks yet...
added a new blog post
 
so i haven't updated in awhile
new blog post added serp 2.0 delivered I am now hovering around 20th for my kw google webmaster says average is 12th idk why its different
over 200 impressions zero clicks
i guess i just need to make page one before i start earning, i will look into some more backlinking tonight
 
got another click for 60 cents bringing my total earnings up to 2.61 my site is still bouncing around in the 11-20 range i am going to look into some social signal stuff for my site
 
So I am now ranking 3rd for my primary keyword!!! and in the 60's for two other keywords. I have this forum to thank for finally getting my feet wet and building my first site. My earnings are only around $6 right now, but I know that being ranked 3rd will bring more views and clicks.

So, it's took you more than 3 monthes to get the first page ?
which seo packges did you use ? ... and what about the fiverr gigs ?.

Yes it has taken me a bit of time to rank first page, but my work on the site has proceeded in fits and starts for most of the summer. I have also ranked this site for very little money as well.
