[Case study] Backlinking for MNS

Hi everybody,

I am starting a new MNS and I created a good schema (I think) to make backlinks for it, check it out and let me know what you think

Tier 1 - 2 ( I'll be using different articles and also website for each tier )

1 - 20 web 2.0 ( 2 links to money site )
2 - 2 Article directories for each web 2.0 ( One link to the web 2.0 and an other to money site ) => 40 A.D
3 - 20 web 2.0 to each Article directory ( One link to the A.D and an other to money site )=> 80 Web 2.0
4 - 2 Article directories for each Web 2.0 ( second submission ) ( One link to the web 2.0 and an other to money site )=> 160

In the end I'll get 320 links pointing directly to my web site from web 2.0 and Article directories

- Bookmark all the links resulting from the submission : Each one of them to at least 100 bookmark website ( random numbers )
- Ping everything

Tier 3-4 ( Different site for each tier )

- 100 comments to each web 2.0 in step 1 of tier 1
- 100 Forum profile ( + signature + contributions ) to each web 2.0 in step 1 of tier 1
- 100 Profils to each web 2.0 in step 1 of tier 1

Tier 5-6 ( Different site for each tier )

- 100 comments to each Article directory in step 4 of tier 1
- 100 Forum profile ( + signature + contributions ) to each Article directory in step 4 of tier 1
- 100 Profils to each Article directory in step 4 of tier 1


All the submissions will be done manually.

Schedule :

- Wait until the MNS is indexed
- Week one : Tier 1
- Week two : Tier 3-4
- Week Three : Tier 2
- Week four : NOTHING (Analysing the traffic and making a new keywords data base for the new articles)
- Week five : Make 5 new articles
- Week six : Tier 5-6
- Week seven : Analysing traffic
- Week eight : Making Social pages on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ and making them active

Keep Publishing articles and repeat weeks from 1 to 6 at each new post.


My questions :

- What do you think about my backlinking strategy ?
- Am I doing to much links in short time ?
- After three months, I guess I will start blasting tiers 3-4-5-6, will that be okay ? Since they don't link directly to my website ...

P.S : I am planning to add wiki submissions, Videos/doc sharing and RSS feeds.
P.S.S :I will also make >100 Directories submissions

Do you write your own content for submission?

Buddy I think it will work but I also think you've over-analyzed it about as much as possible.

If your test proves successful, you'll definitely want to think about slicing some of the "filler" out of your method.

Managing a campaign like that week to week, if you own more than 1 site, is going to drive you insane.

- All backlinks will be done Manually, no automation tools for the start, at least for the 6 first months and not directly to the money site
- No, I don't write my own content, I outsource the articles, since English isn't my first language. And as you can see there is a lot of work to do on the backlinking (+ I have really good writers )

P.S : This is my first attempt to start an MNS and backlink it, so please, let me know what you think about this method.

Yes, it's really hard to do all that ... I tooked me more than 3 days to came up with this and starting the list that I need. I am actually working with a friend of mine, so we will be doing this together but I am the one who's managing it since I am teaching him the basic things about SEO.

We are planning to make at least 1 new MNS each month.

Question please : Should I go for Low, medium or High competitive keywords ?

That's a pretty open ended question...

Generally speaking... low competition keywords will have less volume, so while you can "take pride" from achieving quick rankings, the income won't be as much.

If you're only doing 1 new MNS per month, I'd shoot for Medium-Difficult keywords bc once you rank Top 1-3 you're guaranteed cash.

If your MNS takes so much backlinking to rank, then I would suggest that you start again with keyword research and analyse it properly to find easy competitions. I don't even do this type of intense backlinking for my service site, and still able to grab revenue in 4 digits from it, you are talking of an MNS here, right?

Yes I am talking about MNS, but I still didn't started yet, so this is just a method I created with a friend and I wanted to know if it will works. Because we want to make sure that our MNS's will get ranked and make us revenues.

We came out with a lot of twisted methods that I will publish later.

But do you think we can go for high keywords ? Or do you think we should take low keywords and reduce the amount of work on backlinks ?

What do you mean with service site ? 4 digits, is actually what we are aiming for ^^

The advice by seo-addict is good because you have expenses and for the motivation it's good to have some cash coming in to cover some of that.
But there is another approach possible.

A MSN doesn't need to target just one keyword.
Find some closely related keywords (around 10) with decent searches a month.
Research them and split them into groups. Easy, moderate and hard.
Start with the easy keywords. These will bring some traffic and hopefully some cash.

By the time you rank for these keywords your domain has gained some trust in the eyes of Google.
Continue with the moderate keywords and get them ranked. Don't neglect the keywords you started with in your BL campaign.
Once the domain has some authority AND you have the time you could try and get a ranking for the hard keywords.

I mention time with a reason. It's up to you if you want to spend time on the hard keywords or dedicate that time to a new project/site.

Thanks a lot. That's a good idea, I will add this to my notes and moderate my method to keep my articles targeting harder keywords. Great !

I tooked the time to read a lot of methods here and this is one of the methods I came out with.

Yes but it will take more time to see results. If you're motivated enough that's no problem.

Having backlinks coming from a wide range of IP's (different sites) is better.
But I do use some sites multiple times for backlinking to my inner pages.
I just spread them over time.

And don't forget to diversify your anchor text or the the Mighty Penguin might bite you...

Hahhaha Thanks, don't worry I'm using mixed anchors.

I'll update this post or create a new one to keep you updated. I guess I will go for high keywords since all the work will pay off.
