Here we go with my first case study, I will take it slow, this one does not make a lot of money for me becuase it's just a 2.5 months old site, but this will tell you how easily you can still rank in Google with in just a couple of months for terms(in totality) having 100K + search volume.
HERE WE GO: Whole case study will be broken in 6 Steps.
Everyone says Clickbank is exhausted and it's to competitive to promote it's products. I have been into SEO for 4 years now and I think the best thing that ever happened to SEO were the 2012-2013 Google updates. They opened floodgates of opportunity. People just need to play the game new way and stop being Dinosaurs. Nothing is too tough to rank for anymore. I have ranked for French version of Binary Options(Option Binaire) on 1st position for 6 months
1. How I picked up the product from Clickbank, What was the thought process.
I have already been promoting a couple of products from health niche and had ranked them on position 1, problem with them was that they didn't have a lot of search volume and even though I am ranking on top position they get me sale or two every other day.
So I wanted to pick up a product
- Which is evergreen.
- People really wanna buy - Has Gravity more than 50.
- Have decent search volume.
Here is the screenshot of the keywords that I decided to go with: The search volume is much more than what is shown here because these keywords get more searches in summer.
So once I finalized these keywords, I added them in SERPBOOK, that's the keyword tracking tool that I use. It's nice, it has it's glitches but I like it and it's the best I know of so far.
2. Thought process behind choosing the right domain:
People and so many SEO gurus say exact match domains are dead but 9 out of 10 sites that I use are exact match, but in this case I couldn't land one. Seems like people have been trying to rank for these keywords for years.
It's not that I was not able to find an exact match, it's just that It was dropped multiple times previously. I avoid using dropped domains no matter how clean there backlink profile has been.
Finally I landed up a partial match domain which goes like : x-mainkeyword.com, the reason I like to go after exact domains are following:
- Atleast 30% of the backlink profile needs to be Branded, so I get an opportunity to target my anchor text quite a bit.
- Being a exact match or partial match my keyword variations are also to good amount.
- I love using LSI's and generic keywords, almost 20% of my overall backlink profile is combination of these two and they make my link profile look so natural.(Remember to rank you still need to target enough exact match, and to not to get penalized you need enough variation, brand and generic anchors in your backlink profile)

3. Explaining the backlink profile:
These are the main points that keep in mind as far as my backlink profile is concerned:
- 30% brand and naked URL targeted.
- 10-20% exact match.
- 30% keyword variation
- Rest LSI and GENERIC
- Only 2-4 backlinks everyday from different domains, they are slowly drip-feed in an automated way and I see the rankings rise day after day.
P.S. For the first week I target only brand and URL, from 2nd week I start targeting the keyword variation and from 3rd week I start targeting exact match keywords. So before even I start targeting exact match keywords sometimes I am ranking in top 100 or something.
P.P.S. My links are not coming from same category to which my domain belongs, it's coming from all kinds of different niches, but the onpage content of the link is 100% handwritten and is on topic, I use many public and my own personal PBN for this. It's an important point because many people here are selling niche PBN's though they are always a plus but they are not a necessity at the moment.
4. How the rankings came up:
So I generally don't see any rankings for first week or two, cause not only am I building only 3-4 links a day also it takes some time(2-3 days) for Google to index them. But I start seeing my keywords in top 100 in first 3-4 weeks, some keywords get top 20 as well depending upon how competitive they are.
A few very important points:
Every time I have tried to rank a site in as less as a couple of weeks by sending it a bunch of 50 very high quality links at once or 100 high quality links at once, I got initial rankings but then it dropped off bad. So I don't do that any more
My backlink process is again very natural and organic drip feeding of links.
So make sure
- your link velocity is 3-4 links a day.
- You are using contextual high quality links.
- the on-page content is original.
- the domain relevance is important but not that critical.

5. Increase In Traffic:
Obviously with increase in rankings we will get good traffic right at our doorsteps, and the best part about the traffic is that it's targeted so it converts decent depending upon the website copy.

6. Sales and Making Money:
As I mentioned earlier with targeted traffic you don't have to worry about sales, Here is a snapshot of the clickbank sales graph, A single sale would get me about 25-35 USD. and since the traffic has just started to come in I am pretty sure that my traffic will be 5-10 times as soon as I hit position 1 for my keywords which will be 5-10 times more sales.
For many people here that would be all they need to achieve to quit there day job and work and live off IM. and all this done in last 2 months.. Not to mention I am working on 20+ personal projects(some in loss and some in quite a bit of profit) plus 100+ client sites.
