You can actually get that level of success without using "natural links" because once you start getting in the SERPs, they just come organically. So, just focus on ranking for more keywords and the natural links will follow.

30k words daily for an expert in a niche is doable. That means having awesome resources, books and any material you could turn into website content.
It would be 400 hours of work per month.
So 1 million words is where the peak is for the most hardcore content writers. And the content would probably require editing, but let's say I saw a lot of content that wasn't edited and still ranked thanks to backlinks of course.
Then just take a $200k loan for backlinks after a year of living for savings and you've got it.
Next thing: Google deindexes your website.
It's probably impossible to do it these days due to mental barrier and possibility of being penalized for no apparent reason.
So better find something that will not solely depend on Google and external platforms.

- Average of 10 images per post, all with the ALT attribute

I was thinking the same thing after actually reading a few of the articles.
You could get similar results with something like WriteSonic and a few VAs to post and proofread.
Of course, that's not how they are getting all that traffic.
What they've done is they have brought in a "Veterinary content company" to help them establish expertise for the domain. If you look at the about page they have 7 or 8 veterinarians that are affiliated with the site. This is sort of like the new buying links, you now buy expertise. And it's the only way he could rank in a YMYL niche (in a tier 1 country).
Seems like a foolproof business model.
You would think that her expertise would weaken the more articles are put up under her name, but it seems like the exact opposite happens with Google. The more she publishes the more powerful her entity becomes.
This woman got a free WordPress blog ranked #1 for "freelance veterinary writer" (probably some bs she threw up when she first got started and forgot about). It's like her expertise just unlocked whatever filter there was that was filtering out those Wordpress blogs from ranking in the SERPs.
Once he has established the site as an expert through borrowed authority the only thing that could sink his site at this point is a strong correction based on poor SERP performance. It's like Google's AI is the last defense against Google's human frailty, their biases on what they think would make for a good search result.
