Carrots Have Saved My Eyes

Either this is a poorly used joke or your literally eating a shit ton of carrots then again im sure if you have too much carrots the benefit would wear off as in the saying "too much of a good thing". The rumor that they make you see in the dark was to mask radar. To fool the Germans. So I was lead to believe.

Well the Vitamin A in them doesn't help your eyesight by much so that's basically a myth how it greatly benefits your eyesight.

the grapes are repeatedly sprayed with pesticides and then dried into raisins.

Lol, huh? Vitamin A absolutely plays an important role in your eyesight. https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminA-HealthProfessional/ feel free to fact check me elsewhere if you'd like. Also, people need to stop with this "soaked in chlorine bath" nonsense. They're not soaked in any more of a chlorine solution than a head of lettuce, or most other vegetables to prevent stuff like E.coli. It's a minute amount that is way below the accepted levels, and it's done with any vegetable that's bagged, including your "organic" veggies usually as well. I remember reading somewhere before that it was comparable to the amount of chlorine in tap water. In short, I wouldn't at all be surprised if it did help you some, and NO you're NOT going to get chlorine poisoning by eating them.

It really depends on why your eyesight is fucked up in the first place.

I've been drinking carrots everyday for ... prob 4-5 years now. And I've wrote about this before what I do every Sunday.

I buy....

3 cucumbers
1 bag celery
2 big or 3 medium broccoli crowns
2 lbs carrots
1 zucchini
2 pears
3 apples
6 bananas
1 can fruit cocktail
1/2 lb frozen strawberries

Every Sunday I use a french fry chopper to chop them down for the blender. Generally takes about 2hrs (the carrots are the hardest to chop). Then another 30-45 mins to blend all this shit down with water. And I add 2 tbsp of truvia. I pour each blend into a black 3 gallon bucket. And by the time I'm done the bucket usually fills a few inches from the top.
Then I stir everything a few minutes with a wooden spoon so it's "homogenized". And with a funnel I fill up 1 - 1 gallon empty ice tea container. Then 4 - 2 liter bottles.

The 1 gallon container is what I use first. Then 4 - 2 liter bottles get stored on a shelf on top my fridge (like a square). And I always keep my fridge set to it's max coldness. It took a while to calibrate everything the way it is now. Anything on the top shelf partially freezes. Then as you go down the fridge gets warmer. So eggs and stuff go on bottom shelves. Meat and liquid veggies on top shelves. 1 gallon container on bottom shelf since I drink that quick.

Any lettuce for salad goes in the bottom drawers so it doesn't freeze.

What I do is simply fill a 16 oz bottle 3 times a day. Then drink this stuff (it tastes incredible). 3 gallons lasts exactly 7 days. So carrot wise I'm drinking 2lbs / week.

1 important thing I noticed which I still don't understand, is that strawberries are like a preservative. There was a time when I didn't add strawberries and I'd notice my last few slushy bottles were fermenting with lots of bubbles in them. Then I'd drink the mix, it was spoiled and I'd spit it out. So many times I wound up pouring out my last 2 liters. Then as soon as I started using strawberries I noticed the bubbles stopped forming. So by day 7 there's no fermenting and it tastes just like day 1 (FRESH). I've also spoke about how I don't wipe my ass. At least 90% of my poops are "ghost poops". Where I grab the tissue, put it down there and there's nothing to wipe. Likely due to all the pulp in my intestines. The poop comes out perfectly. Not too hard not too soft. It always breaks off right at the top clean. And I DO eat meat in my diet. The only thing the fucks up my poop is when I eat processed carbs, red meat or fried food. Then my poop gets a bit "gluey" and I have to wipe lol.

I've been using this same old recipe for years now. And I workout and run 2-3 miles / day. I also take a multivitamin with my veg drink once a day. It gives me a noticeable burst of energy and helps me sleep better. I take magnesium too but I don't think it does shit for sleep. I've been taking 300mg everyday but if I remove it I sleep fine. However if I remove the multivitamin sometimes my sleep gets wacky.

Anyway back to the carrots. I don't drink "a lot" of carrots. As 2lbs / week really isn't that much. It prob equates to 4-5 big carrots / day. I also know if you drink / eat too many carrots your skin turns orange. But my point is my vision hasn't improved 1 bit. I'm the only person in my family who needs to wear glasses when I work or drive. And I've thought about WHY my vision is bad a lot.

Is it the suboxone I'm on? One of the side effects is blurry vision but I'm pretty sure my vision was like that before I got on. Is it the 5 cigs I smoke everyday? IDK. But I know my dad use to smoke 3-4 packs / day for 30+ years and never wore glasses. Fortunately he quit. My mom also smoked briefly and never wore glasses. I smoke far less so I'm pretty skeptical that cigs fucked up my vision.

But 1 thing I did A LOT when I was young... and I mean A LOT was lay out in the sun. I was a fucking Sun fiend and still am tbo. In June / July I was laying out in the sun almost everyday. And I always shut my eyes. But I was tanning to the point of blackness. I have pics of myself when I was younger that I look at today and am like "wtf". I look like a mexican / black mix and I'm italian. Another problem I always had was I hate sunglasses. I never wear them when I run. I sweat like a mofo. It's impossible to keep the sweat off the glasses. They fog up. You can't clean them with a sweaty shirt. It also deenergizes me and makes it feel like nighttime. So instead I run usually with 1 eye closed and the other squinting.

I guess what I'm saying is for people like me, when you're pretty sure your vision was damaged by the Sun and / or chemicals.... carrots aren't gonna do shit.

And I have a small conspiracy theory as well. I noticed that my vision never really got bad until I began wearing glasses. Like in college I'd wear them just to see the board. Then after college I needed to wear them to drive. And it really seems the more and more I wore them the worse my eyes got and the more I needed them.

People have told me "don't wear your glasses for a week and see if it gets better". The problem with that is I can't see shit. It's like walking around drunk. I can't drive like that, can't work can't do shit.

I think the only hope I may have is lasik surgery. But for other people who nutrition is fucked and don't eat a lot of veggies.... maybe carrots can help them. I know damn well that veggies are POWERFUL foods. They make me feel great in 100 different ways. If I veer from my diet I get sluggish, sleep goes to shit I start eating shit food, smoking more, drinking more coffee and doing things I shouldn't. My focus goes to shit and I become a different person without them. That's why I recommend everyone eats / drinks LOTS of veggies. I'm just not so sure about the carrot thing as that'll be different for everyone.
