I normally double check patents/trademarks before I purchase a domain but I missed one. Got a C&D letter today, wasn't really a big deal as they just asked that I take the domain down within 15 days and let it expire. I simply replied by telling them I forwarded their paperwork to my attorney(which I did) and if he agreed I would remove the page but that I still owned the domain and was more than free to do as I wished with it as long as I was not infringing on their patent/trademark. I had received the keyword in Deleted member 21250's service(http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ompetition-highly-search-volume-keywords.html) of which I wasn't so thrilled about to begin but still used 3 out of 10 keywords just for the hell of it. I think I will eventually receive another letter for 1 of them and the 3rd one will be fine and should turn into a decent site. All in all, I am only out maybe $40.00 for everything and a few hours of time but it still could of been avoided had I done my research properly.
