Is there any prestige in blackhat marketing?

Will large corporations ever hire a blackhat marketer or will they just be perpetual contractors?

Marketers who specialized in the black arts how have your careers been affected down the road?

You are thinking about this wrong. SEO is a new industry. There is no formal qualifications, no formal method of getting to the top.

All the skills you learn are transferable, you've just got to prove it. If you are a good marketer (which I hope as you are working in SEO), then you'll be able to show this off to your future employer.

With that being said, you are at the bottom of the pile in terms of quality. Big agencies just want people with agency exp imo, white hat stuff. All their clients are f#ing with big budgets so no need for black hat.

Why though? There is clearly value in blackhat services why relegate blackhatters to the bottom of the quality pile? If it works it works right?

Seems like a bunch of close minded people making the decisions
 
Blackhat SEO is the sane as white hat SEO just blackhat SEO is a way to get it done faster that all.

If your good at SEO and can prove it at the interiew there no reason not to get the job .

If you can teach what you preach then your get head hunted .

It all that simple ...

Even the best internet SEO experts have no choice using blackhat methods , sometimes there no other way .

Money can buy the best links and best articles but still might just need a boost even more to reach the top.

Learning black hat SEO is more in depth then white hate SEO it more of a in depth method ...

SEO very easy when you no how to audit any website and see why your competition is indexed in the position there in.

You don’t have to label yourself as a black hat seo. Just because you to bh seo doesn’t mean you can’t apply those techniques to wh methods.

Because it can't be directly applied to corporate clients. That is the bottom line.

If you have good education, knowledge and references you won't have a problem.

If you've tried and failed to rank an affiliate site, you can think again.

Yes. Whitehat SEO is just blackhat SEO with a larger budget. If you spend $1k for an excellent quality article published on the front page of a huge news site and your goal is to raise your SERP performance, that is (technically) blackhat SEO. In fact, it's basically the same as spending $10 for a shitty PBN link. The difference is that at a certain budget, blackhat SEO looks so much like whitehat SEO that it stops being blackhat (for all intents and purposes).

Being a contractor is infinitely better than working at a job. If you want real money, don't work for companies; run your own company and make deals with other companies.

See @davids355's comment. Don't try to specialize in a certain hat color; do things that work.

Yes. I am suffering from "never needed 9 to 5 job ever" disease.
 
I work in black hat. Yes, it does, if you frame yourself that way. In the interview, ask them if it's blackhat to pay for a Forbes membership for $1,800 for the ability to post a contributor article with a do follow link back to the site. If they say yes, screw em. They'll be impossible to work with.
 
SEO is SEO, its bh or wh based on where you get your links from, so you're definitely invaluable to the industry.

No, it's that in B2B sales the core deliverable is not what really really matters.
From the agency side the goal is to retain, not rank fast - and bh comes with two problems: bigger risk of operations & getting outed for using bh is a big no-no in corp-land: rep hit.

So the pros don't overweigh the cons, ergo wh/gh.
 
apperantly managing multiple fake facebook+instagram accounts didnt sound good at my first job interview
the second job i got i kept silent about blackhat stuff, and i got the job...and yes we have the facebook 100+ fake accounts manager which using some bugged old fb programm..
my suggestion is keep silent about it on the interview and later you can throw some ideas about it and see how the job/manager respond to that shit
 
Truth is, by building a site and blasting some links to it you may make a lot of money but you need to have ACTUAL skills that would be useful outside of blackhat IM.

These would include white hat link building, keyword research, on-page SEO, copywriting, content creation, conversion optimization, list building, managing large sites, etc etc. Most marketers who do nothing but blackhat won't have experience in a lot of these areas. Blackhat is NEVER as sustainable and serious/large companies couldn't care less that you mass follow Instagram accounts, spam YouTube or create low quality PBNs.

That might make good money but be honest with yourself and think if your blackhat tools and techniques stopped working, would you still be able to drive traffic and run serious marketing campaigns?
