Hello,
Title may seem strange, but I will clarify it
I want to switch my profession. I was always good witch computer stuff, when I was a kid I had a somewhat popular local website made with php-fusion CMS, but in the end I chose engineering. I don't like it, so I want to switch.
I mentioned backend , frontend, seo. I want to specialize at some field of these. I know I could go frontend/fullstack+seo, but
at first I need to specialize in one thing to try and find a job in that one particular field, and later improve and broaden my knowledge.
It's hard to decide for me what to choose because I tried backend/frontend/seo. I can say I equally like them.
So sadly "follow your heart" is not an option for me in this case. Should I "follow the money" then?
I wrote some programs with java (used in real world) , made some Wordpress websites (php, js, css) , seo and custom plugins.
I write that (and the php fusion thing) not to brag, nothing to brag about. There is nothing special, serious or "professional level" about what I did. I am mentioning that to emphasize that I didn't watch some videos on youtube and decided "oh thats what Im gonna do now" . But that I practically used those things, and I liked it.
I will take a local course (fully compensated by state) because they have contracts and helps you finding a job. So that's why I need to choose a specific specialty/language. I can choose from many programming languages/seo/DevOps and etc.
And its very hard for me to decide what to choose
.
After some years and experience I would like to try freelancing. And I guess front end/fullstack/seo would be better option for it ? As backend like java are more suited
for enterprise applications, banking and etc.
Your opinions and advice would be really helpful and I would be very thankful for it!
