The car in this video below is the (in my opinion) inferior non long wheelbase version, without the built in tvs and dvds in the head rests and is not the 4 seater version.
(mine is the LWB with the TV, DVD, and 4 seater leather armchair version. Even the rear seats go back, and come with wireless headphones so you can watch TV or listen to music if you wish. It is very very quiet despite having 400 bhp, but you can fit a sports exhaust if you want it to sound like the powerful 4 litre V8 that is actually is.

I think I might be a little different to everyone else here, but I drive a prius... I absolutely love it, dirt cheap to run and feels really futuristic.

It's also great around cities, the engine only comes on when I go over 30mph!

Your best bet for a good looking car that's reliable is an A8 3.0TDI. Good (35 avg) mpg, reliable and luxurious. If you can get a facelift ('07) you're even better. The 3.0 tdi is very reliable and both powerfull (233 hp). If you like smaller, you can pick the A6. The A5 are a bit high seeing your pricepoint.
The bmw e65 7 series suffers form alot of electrical problems, especially the pre-facelift models.

Anyway it's better to aim a bit lower than intended, it would be stupid to take im money to spend on insurance or repairs.

AMERICAN IRON! Nothing sounds better than an ls1. You could get a nice American car for less than these imports, and still go a shit ton faster. Every single girl I know has a week spot for an AMERICAN car too. So get something that has over 5.0 L please. Then use the est of you money to build it up

To be honest my main advice to you is don't go too crazy on your first car man!

It's all good and it's nice having the money to buy what you want and being able to afford the insurance for it wile making monies online (trust me i know ) but that isn't really a big deal. Most of the real money makers here could too so it's irrelivent. In my opinion It really boils down to being sensible....

I think the advice the majority of people give here is mainly based on experience, not money or insurance costs lol... No need for a big car and trying to flaunt it if it's your first real car, to be honest the real issue I think of straight away is that you will have no clue how to handle a big engine. No offence at all mate just a fact and this is talking from first hand experience.

Me personally though I'd go for an A4 2001-2004 model, yes yes I know a little older ha but I fucking love those models, something about them just makes me foam at the mouth! LOL Granted the newer ones are sweet and look classy etc, but the older ones have a certain kind of coolness about them that is timeless. Just my personal opinion

I drive an opel(vauxhall in the uk) Vectra (2004) at the minute fully kitted, shes a mint looking machine tbf, but I'm just about to trade it in for a 2004 A4 and I can't wait!

Honestly? Buy something cheap and economic...

The first car always gets some bumps, scratches etc plus it always gets updated at some point in time. Seeing that you have pounds in your post, I guess you're in the UK... well in Europe we have cheap Mercedes! I like old Mercedes diesel cars, they last forever, never need any maintenance and hell, it's a Benz! I always recommend the C220 CDI (diesel) as a first car, it's rather cheap and a bloody tank! A VW polo smacked my rear and I had a bump.. the polo was trash! I've had three different C models (W202: C220 CDI, C280 and C240) And they never had any issues (I drove 40-100k kilometers on them)!

Agree..Depend on what you want to do with the car..

The Lexus is a great car...I have owned one for the last 3 years and I am getting ready to upgrade. Not even planning on looking into another car

id go for the Nissan 370Z
