Haha, kinda!

Ive been meaning to get a car soon and when I saw the other thread, I thought I could ask my fellow members for suggestions.
 
this is what I drive (when my wife lets me - she gets the sits with my kayak dripping salt all over it)

you should be able to pick up a nice coupla year old 2nd hand one in the UK in that price range.

they're a dream to drive, I did Sydney to Cairns in 3 days (2400km) in 3 days recently and didn't suffer one bit. If I drive the old Hilux (my plaything) for more than 3 hours my backs screwd for a week.
 
For all those suggesting 'nice' cars, in the UK we get slaughtered for insurance, especially at this age.

I've recently bought myself a 2009 Golf in black. I rate it.

But like Meathead said, i wouldn't want to have one at uni, unless you lived miles out.
 
At uni I wouldnt really recommend buying a car.

If you do I really rate VW. I have a golf tdi, awesome car reliable and great mpg.

What uni you going to by the way?
 
go for a 320d, you can pick a 2006 up for just over 5k. Its a bargain for the kind of car you get and fuel consumption is good too. Get either a black or white.
