It is one of the requirement to get good views. But this thing alone will not get you views. Main focus should be on creating good content.

More of a me thing, but I have hearing issues so captions improve the watching experience for me and be able to understand what's being said. But I don't know if it "boost" views or increase our certain demographic further.

of course, i usually just want to read captions, i really hate dubbing but sometimes people need it. Sometimes there are videos i'm really interested in but there are no captions that i don't understand, it makes me feel disappointed
of course, specially if you also include related hashtags at the end
