Hi there I ve been following the News recently on the several court cases that sick lawyers of the Big Musical Houses have started against human beings like you and me all around the US and I can see this expanding soon all around the other nations on the globe. Judges are charging 80.000 usd per song you may have illegally downloaded, make your numbers it is obvious that many guys here are owing millions to sony or universal from the lawyers point of view.. :yield: The sad thing here is that US Court Judges (not web savvy people obviously) are making their final decisions on such cases in favor of the big dogs! strange? NO at all. So I can't stress enough guys, cover your traces and always change your IP when doing some BH jobs or tricks online, etc it can get very ugly if you are US based or in any other big countries and get mean with the Big Co's now. Solutions are easy: Using a VPN can't be easier and cheaper nowadays or any other IP changing or masking tool. etc Don't expose your ass fellas.. Uncle Sam and their Partners are all dried and facing recession and they will suck all your coins from your pockets if you give them a chance. Your friend! @The Scarlet Pimp A simple google search will yield the answer to your question... try result 1. http://compnetworking.about.com/od/vpn/a/vpn_tutorial.htm http://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1GGLS_enUS320US320&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=how+to+use+a+vpn @OP: It's not the news lately... This has been going on for years.
All big Corps are suing left right center. Like mentioned in the other thread of Microsux suing the 3 people up in Canada that had nothing to do with their sh&t. They'll sue whereever they can. Just be happy if you are in India or other places where the internet law hasn't been updated for 5+ years.
Why bother downloading music when songs are all over youtube and other streaming music sites? I stopped downloading music when people started adding bogus codecs which are viruses
I'm so glad I don't live in the US. Meh. In the meantime I have a nice little exit strategy to move to a nice sunny country with beautiful women, low costs of living and no extradition treaties should the west get even more stupid. Now's the time to brush up on that second/third language!
lol I seen that on the news today. was 1.9 million fine or something, like u said 80k per song wtf. Anyway just be smart about it
After my issues with the irs I learned quick... now all my shit is untouchable. It may take tens times more work to achieve this, but if someone wants to sue me, they will get :thefinger Absolutely everything I own is leased to me by another person... Can't go into further details about the rest... CYA in advance... rather than learn by getting FUCT like I did
Don't they need a warrant to check your computer? Unless you are downloading thousands of free songs I don't think it will raise a red flag anywhere. I mean, I've been using sadsteve forever and nothing has happened to me, anyone I know, or anyone they know, so yeah.
I've heard of cases being dropped because the person being sued had an unsecured wireless network that anybody in range could connect to.
my internet is cheaper than VPN Also i think the way i do things mostly cant be traced back to me. Except i need to lose the habit of using the same username across all forums, membership websites, and etc.
I can download all I want in my country. The judges here don't even know the internet exists and basically there are no internet laws to deal with. It's freaking cool. If they decide they do want to come after me, they'll have a hard time finding me anyway. What a country?
