Cant make custom FBML page default landing page

I have the same problem. On of my FB pages allowed me the option to set LANDING PAGE...this was about 3 months ago. And recently I did try to set another FB page, but the default option was missing....at both were "official page"

We have now 3 possible reason for this happening:

1. Change of Facebook policy
2. Selection of page type
3. Min number of LIKES needed for DEFAULT LANDING PAGE option to appear

Kind of sucks when we can't control what we want our fLIKES to see first when they come to our page. Kinda like not being able to prepare for your guest....

I have a page with one like and it shows the dropdown to change the landing page.

It is a "website"
 
To be honest I dont rember what kind of "page" I used. But like I said and others have said, it was there when I first started the page then vanished.

I guess, my only option is to see if I can order some fan invites and see how that goes.

For me they have actually just changes the way of doing it a few times the past few weeks. For right now (and this was not the same way to do it 48 hrs ago):

-Go to WALL tab as admin
-At the top, below the tabs and update, there is a gear icon and a "Settings" button.
-After clicking "settings" button change option "Default Landing Tab for Everyone Else" in the drop down menu to "Talk UFC"

I just was having the same problem which was weird because everything was smooth yesterday, but just double-checked and it was the same on a fan page(with 0 fans), a business page, and a website page. If you need nay help pm me i will check back.
 
xplixit, why not do another page, do it as a website, see what happens. Sometimes things go crazy at FB, for no good reason.

Tobe honest, I have no idea if you can, but it would defeat the purpose of a community page to allow tab landings.

I hear you on the strange things. I cant get to the admin on one page, though I am the admin. I had to force it with going to another page I can edit, and changing the id to the one I cant edit, and it let me into the page. I just bookmarked it. It does not show the edit link below my page profile image, but I can click the settings on the wall to make changes to the wall stuff.

All I see when I click the settings icon from the wall tab is

Default View For Wall: Options are - All Posts or Only post by page
 
Ok, So I made a new page (As a website) and now everything is looking good. I even spiced the page up a bit...lol

Okay I just did fan pages for a few different "public figures" fan pages and it worked with all of them. Is there any way you can start a new page?
