I've got 3 wordpress websites I'm trying to index. Each has 10+ articles on them. I've been waiting about a month now for Google to index them. Everything is showing ok in gsc as in Google can fetch them but it just says waiting for data etc as if they've never been crawled.

2/3 have decent links pointing at them.

Is anyone else having issues? Any tips?

Basically Google thinks your sites are sht. They said it recently that they won’t index sites they don’t think they’re worth it. I’m struggling too with a new site.

You need to start working on your sites more, make sure on-page SEO is done right, I saw so many people saying their on-page SEO is great but it turns out they just don't know what good on-page SEO is. See sites like Backlinko? That is good on-page SEO.
Then you need to build a few quality links to it, and just keep improving the quality of your website.

Right now Google is probably thinking hey this website is not that important, I will wait to see if it will improve so I can index it
Meanwhile, you are sitting and not doing anything while waiting for Google to first index your sites which won't happen if you don't improve the quality of your website overall.

make some more quality backlinks and make sure your website has sitemap and submit it on GSC.

No, I guess this is just Google try to identify the expired domain trick, if you use an expired domain, first you need pass Google's radar, this is now be one part of the panda/penguin algo to fight those low quality sites, black hat sites. Expired domains are no longer that easy to work like before.

I created 8 websites using expired domains last week
4 of them indexed and one is getting impressions too.
Indexed ones have authority gov backinks
I didnt share them on social medias yet or added to gsc..
Givesome social sharesto your sites..

A few things to note:

its not an expired domain
sitemap and robots are correct
I have $1000 worth of PrivateBN to one and even stronger links to the other, third one has zero links

I have a feeling its one of two things.

They're hosted on GCP Cloud Run so the load time can sometimes be slow (6 seconds) if it does not come from the cloud flare cache but it normally does
The content is a mix of expired content and jarvis content, so maybe Google has worked that out

Annoyingly I have a 4th website that is exactly the same (hosting, links, content source etc) but has indexed and is ranking fine. If it were the content though I would expect Google to say crawled and not indexed in GSC...

Google update is going now and it will solve index isdues i think..

Just logged in to GSC and its showing "Discovered - currently not indexed" on all my pages so I'm assuming its not been crawled yet? For some reason..

This is happening to me a lot too with good content. Guess only thing you can do is be patient

try rankmath index api

It's always the same thing when google rolls out new updates. With every single update, I see that google almost stops crawling sites (well, except big and/or old sites). During every update I struggle to index my backlinks but then google tries to catch up. And in November, two updates.

I used omega yesterday which does the same, it just 301s the Google bot to your site triggered by the indexing API so hopefully that will help

Yes, you should check the sitemap. And put ******** links, the more links per link, the higher the chance of indexing. I also often do not see in the index links that I left on authoritative sites.

Yeh I was thinking that might be a factor. I just scanned the web server logs since its all in GCP and it doesn't look like the google bot has crawled the websites at all apart from me doing sitemap fetches. So it looks like its just not bothered about my sites. I'll just wait it out and build more links.

Build more links. The solution to everything!

Thanks for everyone's input :-)

I have also been having that problem. Yesterday tried to insert video and use xml video sitemap to ping google. Just 2 links indexed, 3 not yet.

Wait for 10 days.....if still Google didn't index your article....you can try with this....if your page is new....just chng the url and redirect old url to new one ahain submit in gsc ...will be index within day....it's works for me.

Man, that's actually really cool, if that's how it works - thank you so much.
