Can't follow on Instagram

Hello BHW.

I have 2 years old account that I have started using month ago. I started building audience, and kinda stopped thinking much about it since I focused on other projects. Yesterday I changed name and deleted all pictures since I switched to other name and rebranded it a bit. Account was unfollowing and liking photos for a while now without problems. Yesterday, I noticed that every time I try to follow, button goes green and then it goes back to grey. It won't follow. I can like and comment but I can't follow. I could follow from browser, but after trying it for a while today again I can't follow again, not even from browser.

Is my account temp restricted? Should I just wait a day or two and start following again? Has anyone experienced this so far? Would really suck if I had to create new account, this one is very old and I already have over 1600 followers.

You basically answered ur own question. Yes, you are probably temporarily restricted from following. This could range from a couple of days to a week or two. Just let the account rest for a while.

This block is a soft block without descriptive warning, it is a 24h restriction. Be careful when the block is lifted as your actions are limited within the first period of time (I haven't got the time frame perfectly down), so I advice at least another 12 hours on top of the warning before you resume following action. You can like and comment without problems.
