Title pretty much says it all, I've been unable to get on BHW for three days without using a proxy. I have no clue how to fix this or what (if any) information I should provide here. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem and I'm guessing its down to the fact that BHW has been down more than it has been up lately. I think my router has cached the site when it was down. Not sure how to fix it either.

Maybe you or someone else in your house had another account on bhw that was banned? Thats the only thing I can think of. Banned accounts = IP Ban

start - run - cmd

type in : ipconfig/flushdns
ipconfig/release ( this takes out your internet)
ipconfig/renew

if that doesn't work , then you should modify windows host and putting there www.blackhatworld.com 199.59.60.205 ( blackhatworld IP)

Or changing your dns to the google ones ( 8.8.8.8 - 4.4.4.4) or openDNS ones too.

So I've done all of that, changed the dns to opendns, added BHW to the hosts file and still no luck. Obviously my account isn't banned so I really have no clue what is going on.

ipconfig/renew

This will have no effect if your computer is behind a router and utilizing NAT. All this will do is flush the dns cache and release and then renew the local IP address that your router has assigned to your computer via DHCP (Ie; an RFC 1918 address like 192.168.*.* , 10.*.*.* or 172.16.*.*). It will not affect your public IP address. You can see if you are using an RFC 1918 address on your computer by typing just 'ipconfig' into a command prompt on a windows box.

OP: How do you connect to the net? Also, are you able to ping blackhatworld.com? (Start > Run > 'cmd' > 'ping blackhatworld.com') let us know the response (Ie; does it resolve to an IP (It will if you have an entry for bhw in your hosts file) and if so do you get a response?).

If your on a connection that uses dynamic IP's then it might be possible that another user has got the IP banned. Disconnect your modem/router from the internet for 10~ minutes and try connecting again.

Feel free to PM me if you wish. I will try and help, hopefully we can get this solved for you!

had the problem too a long time ago and it was because of proen peering between my ISP and the host of BHW. nothing to do about it. just use a proxy.

I have also experienced this problem in the last 2-3 days. But today it seems fine. I hope that it stays working and there are no more problems.

I have exactly the same problem. I cant even ping blackhatworld.com
Is there a way to check if my IP was banned at BHW?

me too had the same problem since few days ago.. now i can access bhw but sometimes i can't...

i got another error when accessing bhw main url

I thought it was just me. I've been using TOR for the last couple of days

thanks it worked.I followed your steps and was able to connect now with out proxy.

nope was the same here as well, no IP bans.
I then checked through my server and saw it was up so did it with VPN and it worked. Later it worked again directly but have had those issues for the past few days.

About every 10 attempts I get blocked. I am using firefox (latest version I think). I get "this website is running a compression that's not allowed" or something like that ? Anyway once I refresh the page loads ok. I'll post a screenshot later if anyone's interested
