can’t change email

I'm not sure but try finding a locksmith to see if they have any solutions.

It is very difficult to change that mail at present, in these cases I will wait 15 days to 1 month to change that mail

hello newbie here, i wanna ask is facebook policy now can’t change email nor add new contact without code from old email or phone ? i have thousand fb but i can’t change email bcs i can’t find old email in order to get otp to change password. i mean i created by myself but using temporary email 3/4 years ago. thanks in advance
The cause is from the email software, please check again.

If you can’t change the email and don’t have access to the old one, there’s not much you can do unless you’re still logged in. If the account’s alive, turn on 2FA right away. If it’s already locked, it’s likely gone. For new accounts, always use a real, stable email

It will be easier to change when you use your 1 main profile

try adding another email instead of changing it, that way you can choose which email to send the code to

Hi! Yes, Facebook now requires verification (a code sent to the old email or phone) to change key account info like email or phone number. This is to protect accounts from unauthorized changes. If you no longer have access to the old email or phone, it’s very hard to update those details. Using temporary emails long ago makes recovery tough now. Your best bet is to try Facebook’s identity verification process, but success isn’t guaranteed.

Yes, it is currently almost impossible to change your email or add new contacts to your account without access to your old email or phone number. The security system requires verification via the original contact information to make important changes. For accounts created 3–4 years ago with temporary emails, the possibility of recovery is very low if you no longer have that email. This is a new mechanism to prevent fraud, but it also makes mass account management more difficult. From now on, if you create a new account, you should prioritize using the official email and activate two-factor security from the beginning to avoid this situation happening again.

Security systems have been significantly enhanced to prevent unauthorized access and account abuse. This means that changing an email or adding a new contact requires a verification code from a previously linked email address or phone number. If you created a bunch of accounts a few years ago using temporary emails and now no longer have access to them, it is almost impossible to make changes to your verification information. In this case, those accounts will be “stuck” – they can be used temporarily but are very difficult to recover or protect in the long term. To avoid future risks, it is necessary to build a systematic process for storing and managing verification information, or use a more secure authentication system right from the account creation stage.

Facebook now needs a code from your old email/phone to change contacts. If you used a temp email, getting the OTP may be hard.

Although it is hard to accept, you cannot change that, only if you remember and still have access to the old email to get the code.

Facebook tightens security, so if you want to change your account information, you need a code from your old email/number. If you no longer have access, you cannot change it.

There could be a number of reasons why you can't change your Facebook email, including: a system error, the email is already in use for another account, or you may not have followed the steps correctly. You should double-check the steps, make sure you've entered the correct email and password, and check if the email is already in use for another Facebook account.

Yes, Facebook now requires a code from your old email or phone to change contact info, even if you’re logged in. Since you used temp emails, you’ll likely be stuck unless:
  1. You add a new email or phone via the mobile app (works better than desktop).
  2. Enable 2FA — this sometimes lets you remove the old contact later.
  3. Be patient — changes may take a few days to go through.

Instead of changing the old email, you just need to add a new one. Try this way
1. Log in to Facebook using the account you currently have access to.
2. Go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Account Center → Personal details → Contact info.
3. Add a new email: select “Add another email,” enter the new address, and Facebook will send a confirmation code to that email.
4. Verify the new email using the OTP (one-time password) that Facebook sends.
5. (If needed) After adding the new email, you can set it as your primary email and remove the old one — but only do this after the new email has been successfully verified.
- Facebook does not require an OTP sent to your old email or phone number, but it does require verification of the new email.
- If two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled, Facebook may ask you to enter your current password to complete the change.
same bro, need otp from old email before add new email
