Canonical Tag

This is my situation :

mydomain.com/abcd
mydomain.com/abcd/

Both are indexed in google, it lead to duplicacy of more than 25 pages (5 1000+ word articles) which i wrote myself. This is due difference in permalink and me manually indexing using GWT. I added additional slash in WP permalink whereas my GWT submission was without last slash.

I heard that canonical tag will solve this one. i have disabled automatic redirect from .abcd to .abcd/ in WP from theme functions. Now the only thing which i don't know about is this canonical tag. Can someone tell me how to do it.

My main question is where to add in the post + which url should be having in canonical tag, the one i want to keep or the one i want to leave. seriously no idea. Google front page content confuses me. i just need answer to above 2 questions.
Please understand one thing i have made post for .abcd not .abcd/ . It is due to me doing submission in GWT using .abcd/ . im fucked up. Please take small effort to explain i may come to some help to you in future.

thats canonical stupid not canconical !!

Now edit it again.

If I didn't already have an infraction I would be telling you how fucking stupid your posts are, but I can't do that.

I don't think you know how much you wind me up.

Oh right, I just thought it was a buttplug or something.

So in all this time where I have honestly tried to help you, you have been giving me the finger and I didn't even know.

Nice.

Who the fuck do you think you are where you can give me the finger for 20+ posts then tell me to give you help.

Fuck right off.

OP, I'd rather go for a regex solution that forces the trailing slash.

You may add rel="canonical" to urls you want to keep.
Add a <link> element with the attribute rel="canonical" to the <head> section of these pages.
This google support page should explain all in details https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139066?hl=en

Yes. Stop flaming in your posts on this forum will be much appreciated. Other people may look into this thread for real information and spare them from reading all this shit.
And we really don't want to bother Ste, he has tons of threads to troll around. It's a very demanding job, after all.

Okay i will.

BTW thanks for your reply, i will try this one.

Just another thing.

I have to add <link rel="canonical" href="https://mydomain.com/abcd"/> or <link rel="canonical" href="https://mydomain.com/abcd/"/> ?

Remember i don't have two different posts in the admin panel, it is just coz of GWT and my permalink structure, im stuck in this.

thanks again.
