There is a domain name that I've been watching for some time and it has now expired about a month ago but I can't still buy it.
On the original domain registrar of the domain it says "domain.com expired on xx/xx/xxxx and is pending renewal or deletion".

Does any of you know how much longer is the registrar going to keep it until releasing it free? And why are they doing it?

The registrar can put it up for auction/sale after 30 days. It must be purchased or released by day 45.

Thank you for the cited answer! Thanks given.

IMHO, 45 days is way too much, the ICANN regulation in this case sucks hard
