Lurked around for a while, and finally joined.

Canadian developer based in Montreal area.

Work a lot in Wordpress and do a lot of markup and coding (HTML5,CSS3,PHP, JQuery, JS, AJAX)

Aside from client work, built some of my own sites (some doing 5 figures of business annually).

Looking to learn, contribute and connect.

Short answer is yes. Least sketchy/easiest way is to use a proxy registrar. Canadian individual/company who registers/holds the domain for you.

I’m looking to setup an eCommerce website on a .ca domain as part of expanding my UK business.

My Canadian friend has okayed me to use his name and address for the registration data. I’m trying to gauge if I’ll ever be asked to provide proof.

Ah ok I understand. No, as long as you have valid Canadian information they do not ask for proof. I have never been asked for proof, they can take away the registration if they determine the info to be false is my understanding.
