Can Youtube Detect the Same Video Uploaded Multiple Times?

As the topic states, can youtube detect if you upload multiple versions of the same exact video? And if so will it penalize you?
The reason I ask is I operate a small business that operates in multiple cities. I was going to upload the same professionally made video for each city (about 5 of them). The format for the video name would be Keyword + City Name.

The do detect it - but who cares? There is a lot of double content on yt...
 
Yup. they can detect it easily .

The trick is to use different proxies for different accounts and use something like mass video blaster for blasting a video to hundreds of accounts.

You can use it to promote new movies with cpa offers.
 
Yes, YT detects it easily.

To make it unique videos, add watermark on each video per city.

For example...

Video 1 = watermark it with VIDEONAME+CityName
Video 2 = watermark it with VIDEONAME+CitName
...and so on.

You could also add a unique image at the end of each video, or vary the image at the end of each video within the call to action.
 
They detect but nothing happens unless it's a copyrighted video. So don't worry
 
If the videos are not against their TOS you can upload them from the same account without any problem. Just to convince yourself, look at this channel, 510 videos in the format you're planning to upload.
 
On each video you can try to add random 2-30 more seconds with or without content(works better with content).
Also you can change the thumbnail of each video.
You can try also add long descriptions with paragraphs and at the end of each video description a link to maybe wiki,g maps(on each a different link to high pr site),or different call to action on each video.

Wow it's an interesting channel, but they are not exact same videos at all, they are singing different names in every videos. :P

You won't be able to upload exact same video onto the same channel, the video will get blocked directly. You can upload them onto different channels without any problem, you won't get penalized too. Unless someone started flagging your videos under applicable offense...

They are Keyword (Happy birthday) + Name. The duration for most of them is 0:59. It think that more or less the duration is taken into account by Youtube not the song (talking about a royalty free song) but I may be wrong.

YouTube do not take keywords, duration etc into account at all. Their scanner scans the audio's frequency, and visual content frame by frame. So if you upload exact same video onto one channel, it gets blocked directly for duplicated content.
If you upload a copyrighted content that is uploaded onto someone's YouTube CMS account, their scanner scans everything you upload for matched audio/visual. They can detect and match even a one second audio, or a single copyrighted picture.

I was with YT + CPA for quite some time and I can confirm that the duration is taken into account. When I got one video banned and uploaded it again in a short time the video was removed. When I uploaded it with 1 - 2 seconds added the stick rate was much much higher. It depends by the content if its original or not and again, if its against their TOS or not.
If I'd be in OPs situation, a short test would not hurt anyone.
 
You can add watermark on the video for different cities when uploading them to avoid getting banned.
 
Duration and audio are the main things to look for. Youtube easily spots these. Download the free version of Camtasia and just re-record them and add a second or 2 to each video. If you upload to your own channel a video that it detects is a duplicate of what you have it just wont publish it.
