Can you snipe articles by indexing faster?

I was just thinking today, would it be possible to find a site, wait for them to publish something, go back and post it to your site and use GSA indexer or something to get it indexed first? Sounds like a double edged sword, not only do you get the free article, but you get to negative serp them? Just a thought, what do you think?

P.S. I apologize for my evil thoughts.

I've heard about people doing this with, for example, subscribing to the RSS feed of some small-time casual blog then automatically posting to a different site.

It should in theory work.

Also, a good reminder to everyone to get your articles indexed as soon as possible.
