Approximately in February of this year I created a Shopify where I wanted to sell fidget toys (spinners and cubes). I've never had any experience with Shopify before this site and I wasnt expecting it to have any significance at all. I read a few tutorials on how to do dropshipping with Shopify and Ali Express, so I wanted to try it out myself just to understand better the current IM environment.

So, made the site in a couple of days and left it alone for several weeks, I didn't work on it and quite frankly I totally forget that I even had it.

One day I received a notification in my inbox about somebody bought a spinner from me. I thought it was pretty random, fulfilled the order and wasn't going to come back to the site again anytime soon.

But then I receive 2 more orders (again, out if blue.)

I was pleasantly surprised that I was getting conversions without putting any effort in improving the site or investing a signle penny in ads.

It was quite refreshing because until that moment I was focusing on affiliate marketing which requested way more work while payouts were much lower.

So, with a minimal effort I was able to get to $1,000 profit each month for 3 months, and I ended up selling the site for much lower that it was worth because I wanted to get some cash to reinvest in other projects as I wanted to exit before the fidget obsession was a distant memory.

Since than I have created several Shopify websites. Some of them were more successful than others. But I like about eCommerce is that overall it's ROI can be quite high if you compare it to affiliate marketing offers (e.g. mobile installs with FB or Pop ads.)
