Can you really make money online?

Been looking for work for 5 months since being laid off from yet another web design job (all contracts - no unemployment). I've tried everything from Craigslist to temp agencies, McD's to WalMart. Been told everything from overqualified to underqualified but no one's hiring me.

I've given up on being able to give my kids much of a Christmas, but I've got to bring in money to put food on the table.

I've seen scams offering quick money online, but is there REALLY any legal way to make money online where I'll still have time to look for a job?

There are tons of ways to make money online. There are lots of threads / posts on the forum that can easily help you out. It just takes time and motivation.

Listen, I just found something that is HOT and I must say I wanted something that I didn't have to sit at my computer all day to make money.

some people can make good cash online and others cant, you need to understand it takes time, you need to work hard, educate yourself and dont expect to make money overnight. i make all my money online, i have a wife, a daughter and give them a great life from my online earnings. before i knew anything i spent like 8 hours a day reading through this forum and educating myself, it takes time and hard work.

Yes. You do services in the mean time like SEO, writing, etc. Always position yourself as a high quality gig so you can justify asking for more money with your project.

Then use that income to fund more passive ventures that don't require a direct service.

My biggest check for 3 days work. It is possible just need to find a strategy. Many people have made much much more than I have.

Just remember whatever you choose to put your energy into. Don't stop taking action.

Figure out who you are and what your skills and passions are and head for that direction.

Appreciate the replies. Yes, I've already spent weeks reading this forum. Maybe I didn't explain enough.

Over the years, I've tried monetizing blogs, affiliate sites with SEO, keywords, Adsense but never made more than $10-20 a month despite spending a great deal of time. I'm obviously not doing it right, but there's a lot of conflicting info on how to do it correctly.

A lot of the info I've found want you to spend money to get the "secret," but I figure getting people to pay for their "secret" IS their way to make money so I've passed.

Not sure what I've been doing wrong or which method I should learn how to do right.

There are a lot of ways to make money online but it is not easy and most people fail. For most people it takes months or even longer before getting a grasp on how real money is made online. Honestly it sounds like a job is the best thing for you. You can try a few small jobs to hold you over and feed the kids.

I can only imagine how terrible you feel but to tell you the truth you won`t succeed online if you are acting desperate and looking for a quick shortcut to some decent money. If I were you I just clearly DECIDE that for the next 6-12 months you are going to try various methods online w/o any desperate thoughts spinning in your head.

I remember when I was under pressure to make money online...now it seems that my mind was just completely blocked back in the day. Good luck.

It's a mindset. When i started i didn't knew anything. I posted maybe 15 threads in my whole life, and i have read almost whole this forum.

You have a job mentality, yes u can find some jobs, and get hired, but that's the whole point of internet, to not work for someone but for yourself.


I have put 18 hours a day for 6 months (after 6 months ) >50 dollars a month/ AFter the next 6 months i was making 2500. (because the work of my previous six month started to pay off). (i had build over 200 sites in 6 months.

With that atitiude you can't win a fight, and ur trying to get in war ? (=internet world is war)

All that said, change your altitude, change your self, and everything will change for you.

Also people say alot 'search the forum" but if you are new u don't know what to search, i understand.

My best advice to you is, master SEO, gt all the tools, work , do some freelance jobs, buy the ones that are not cracked ect. when i say master it i mean really master it.

With SEO skills, (u can make it in any niche, any way, adsense, cpa, ebooks, videos,) anything.

ALso u do'nt get hired because you are not valuable enough to the market place,not because they don't hire you.

Make your self more valuable and master seo skills. Then you wouldn't need any job, or get hired.

Also everything u have now , is because the person u have become. You have attracted all.

Why i'm taking my time to type, is because i have been there and it feels shit, and some guy came from nowhere and said, joe, you are shit! and he told me why.

Yes you can make money online, and alot. You can make daily what people earn annual. I started with 0.10 a day (i started with a simpel idea) keept doing till it worked. I never quit, never skipped tot he next idea, (i had over 400 ideas) lol

those 400 ideas were better, then the one i was working on, but i had to focus and finiish it, and after that i started to work on my others. At this time i have still 356 projects, that i have not started yet.

Also , i have been your position 2 times, (as i lost alot after i was on top ) and BAMM i was back there cause of wrong decision i made, but after when i got back on top, i was stronger.

oke brother, just know if you work hard on your self, life will be easy on you, if you be easy on your self, life will be hard on you.

Start with adsense , that's what i always recommend. Work on adsense 12 months until u get to 2-4k monthly. (then make your dreams come true)

why adsense ? Adsense will teach you dicipline, determintion as it's not a fun thing to do. and it's repetitive. And repetition is the mother of everything.

The only secret is that it takes hard work and failure from your mistakes in order to succeed. But it is absolutely possible.

no you can't make money online bu you can produce money online

Making money using a lot of these methods takes time. You need money now, it sounds like.

Go hop on Craigslist or another similar site, and offer your web design services. You can make a few hundred or more dollars per site. That's how I started out. (Feel free to just use Wordpress. Quick, easy, and great looking sites.)

The FIRST thing you should learn, and learn it well, before learning anything else... Is RESEARCH. Keyword research, market research, niche research. If you hit the right keywords then you don't have to work too hard in order to rank decently and pull in a buck or two. Then rinse and repeat.
