can you rank a site with web 2.0 only?

so there is a common list of web 2.0s that everybody posts to, like wordpress, livejournal, page4, etc etc
isn't that a huge footprint? like if a site has a backlink from wordpress AND livejournal AND tumbler AND 100 other common web 2.0's, that's pretty suspicious, there is no way that would happen naturally.
so my question is, have you, in recent times, ranked only by posting to the common web 2.0's?

give it a try ;) .. but yes it is. but why not adding some other links like bookmarks ect ...
 
Web2 spam is one of the best forms of spam at the moment. Great for churn and burn.
 
Unless you are targeting very easy keywords is hard to rank a website only with NEW web 2.0 websites. If you have access to old, high PRed web 2.0 the situation is better.

Popular web 2.0 websites have the advantage that google can't ban their domain or penalize it since a lot of legit users use them daily. So that's a plus for web 2.0.

The downside is since everyone can make a blog and no moderation == low low value of each individual web 2.0 link.
 
I dont think you can rank a website, I mean a good keyword only with web2s. You definitely will require variation

yes this can be done easily.
Create 15-30 web2.0,s based on the competetion of the keyword
Choose different tittles for each web2.0
Write some good articles on them.
Never link the web2.0's each other.
Reduce the links on your web2.0 as much a syou can , avoid tags.They will reduce the link juice passing to your money site.
Do some high pr backlinking to web2.0's , need not be contextual. Backlinks from any niche.

Check your rank after 2 weeks . If you need further improvement in your ranking , then add some more backlinks to web2.0's

This will definitely work. I have ranked my sites only with web2.0's

So where are you getting the backlinks to your 2.0s; from other 2.0s?

Diversity is one of the essentials to ranking sites.

The difficulty will obviously depending on the amount of competition your have for those keywords..
 
Depends on what you ranking for. If your trying to rank for a keyword which isn't particularly competitive then its definitely possible.

In some cases you can, but for some keywords you definitely won't rank only with 2.0, I think the best option is to try and make action
 
Yes depending on the keywords and what accounts you are using. (ie high PR accounts) and what you do to index them if you just create the accounts and do nothing only about 20% of them will index we have done over 20,000 manual web 2.0 links and a key is indexing the links and giving them juice. (after a few months we have seen good DA/PA for the web 2.0's)

Bumping a very old thread but this is the truth. Even with their high PR Google know anybody can create a link on these sites so they are of less value until they have other links to them.
