I know for reels it has to be unique content, but for pictures do they have to be unique as well?

Yeah ofcourse, 100%. It has always been the case with images. It's just reels picking up some hype from some recent times.
You could prolly use some tool which automatically does it for you by default, automatically, everytime while posting.

Haven’t you seen pages re-posting others' content with a caption saying, "DM for credit"?
You can do this, but make sure the original content owner gets proper credit. Otherwise, they might report you for unauthorized use.

Yes, you can do it, but the engagement will be lower so be carefully with it.

Yes, you can do, but non-unique images can still work if paired with engaging captions and hashtags.
