Can you monetize tv shows on youtube?

Can you upload tv shows, series to youtube without getting your account deleted? Also if that is possible, Is monetizing the videos possible? Because I've seen many big channels, with many views and subs which uploaded scenes from tv shows.

I wouldn't try to, as Youtube would detect that it is copyrighted, and you would get a copyright strike and have your Youtube account suspended for 6 months, and not being able to monetize on that account for 6 months too.

You don't need to have the ACTUAL TV show on Youtube, you can post trailers and then send the visitors to your site that is content locked.
