its totally depend on keyword competition.

If you Selected low Competition keyword & Good Content with 2 % keyword Density might be possible to rank on 1st page.
I have done such experiment before you can see ranking of my wordpress blog for "xbox error code 80072ef3"

NO, you can NOT rank anything just by content. Backlinks still count when mentioning ranking on Google.

I totally completely disagree. I have a one page website with 124 word content, did completely NO backlinking, NO optimizing, after a few weeks #1 in Google SERPS and still ranking #1 for a lot of long-tails in Google & Bing.

So short answer: yes you can rank with no backlinks.

In case, I will suggest 2 possibilities:
1. Your domain authority is extremely high, so the inner pages will inherit the DA from domain
2. Your keyword is CRAZILY easy and in most case, they should be very long-tail keys (>= 5 words with extremely low search volume). When I say you can NOT rank without backlinks, it mean for keyword with decent search volume (Will not mention very long tail keyword that nobody do SEO for, so Google will certaily rank for any pages that contain keywords in h1 tag

First page rankings may be very difficult to acheive with content only, but you might get some visitors through longtail.

I have 1 keyword ranking on 10th position without backlink.

That is an easy KW (5-word KW), my advice is long content and more LSI KWs could help

Yes, This is Possible, If you post Rich Content (Audience Engaging Content). Google Must Take it to the 1st Page. But It may slow.

Trust me on this, if your keyword really easy and longtail then yes, otherwise no.

If you have low DA and its not a very easy keyword you wont make it to page 1.

Every article i publish, no matter the difficulty on one of my( 15 DA )sites will insta rank top 100.

Just comes down to DA, onpage seo, and keyword difficulty.

The simple answer: look at the DA and backlinks of other competitors on page 1.
