Can you change an affiliate url?

What I'm asking is if you can change the way an affiliate url looks when someone goes to it. For example, Amazon affiliate links have the referrer on the end, I'm wondering if you could show a normal Amazon link instead even when someone follows the link to the product page. I'm not specifically asking about Amazon but in general can you make affiliate links look like normal ones to anyone who sees it?

Manually you can call it anything you want, not sure en masses though

The first thing that came to my mind when I read this thread is this thread here.

PS. Though the 'why' isn't something I agree with, the 'how' and 'what' is really innovative. It could be something that you'd want to look into to make your links look more legit.
