Hello,

I have registered a domain on a general niche. Having worked as an article writer before i am confident that i can write quality articles and i can spend 15 hours a day writing articles. So, i would like to know whether writing articles alone but not doing any Off-page SEO can bring traffic from search engines? But, i will share articles to social media etc.

Thanks.

Yes, of course. So long as your site/blog is not blocking robots, search engines will crawl the web and pick up your content on their own. Not having off-page SEO won't make the process any faster though - it might be a while before your site gets picked up, and that's especially dependent on the rate at which you're posting content.

Always prioritize quality over anything else. If you're writing top notch articles that will gain readers' interests, even a little SEO here and there will go a long way.

The more content you have the more organic traffic you'll pick up through long-tail searches.

Yes you can pick up decent traffic, if the articles are actually good quality. You will pick up some longtail traffic pretty easily and if the competitors content is very poor you might even rank quite well. Social media will pick you up some no-follow links and should get things indexed. If you are willing to spend 15 hours a day writing why not spend one hour doing some SEO? Guest blogging sounds perfect for you.

Depends on where you post your articles with a little Seo Content can go along way. If i loved to write i would build a authority niche blog and then write articles and post those on varous web2.0s and Article sites pointing back to my blog

Thank you so much for your clarifications.. i am more confident now.. :)

Mate I hate to burst your bubble but content is no guarantee for traffic. Long-tail traffic is minimal by description. Recently I had a guy build out a nice WP site with 20+ articles (good articles) as a start for an authority site. I get long tail traffic but there is so little of it - well it kinda blows to be honest. Not enough traffic to do anything with - maybe 100-300 visits monthly, boring stuff really.

It all depends on the competition. If the market is still young, good well-written articles still have good impact, but for tough market it is definitely not enough.
Study your market and your competitor first.

My first website (still banking hard now) gets page one in Google just from good articles, not implementing any kind of SEO, white hat or black hat. We start implementing social signals and SEO 2-3 years ago, to push to the #1.

Yes, since your content is high quality you will do pretty good. I would suggest what others are saying. Focus your keyword research on long tail keywords in your niche. No matter how low the exact match for the keyword. Write the article anyways. Traffic will trickle from the long tail keywords. If you do this for a very long time you could end up with a decent amount of traffic.

Definitely quality and well written content will bring your traffic, as it is the key to establishing online reputation.
However, the proper promotion of your content online matters a lot.
As you mentioned, utilizing social networks is a way to go, and furthermore, developing a strong online presence via authority sources (blogs, roundups etc.).
You can also try to promote your articles and attract new clients via niche relevant forums, as some of them gather a large and 'looking for a deal' audience.
So, there are a plenty of opportunities to get referral traffic and thus earn some links which will help your off-page in the long run.

Just in the middle of creating a huge website, a few week old and inside pages ranking quite well just on content. No back linking yet for obvious reasons.

No, only writing articles cannot help you to get more traffic on your site. It is good to share these links on the high page rank sites and share there them on the social media sites these can help you more than only writing content.

Hi!
Yes a lot of high quality content will bring you some traffic.
However, SEO and good content should work together to get a good outcome.
As previously stated, guest blogging should do the job for you!

I am going to write unique and quality articles and will write guest posts and articles in Social Sites for backlinks. :)

Thank you guys.

yes, absolutely. I prove it.
what you need is keep posting continuously.
1-2 article everyday is enough to bring you 1k-2k traffic in 1-2 month.
No link building at all.

Yes it can, but I would like to recommend that you explore all avenues of traffic, and never depend on one or the other. I'm in constant search of new traffic sources.

Can you please prove it? No offense, Because I do not believe you...

Content is a main KPI in building a website but there are many other tasks as showcased by many of the posters above...

I think the term "high quality content" has lost meaning. When you say "I can write quality articles" what does that even mean?

You can write an article with few grammar/syntax errors? That doesn't mean your quality is high, it just means you have basic editing skills.

You can write an article over 1,000 words? That doesn't mean your quality is high, it just means you can run-on and on and on with fluff.

You can write your own content without spinning? That doesn't mean your quality is high, it just means you haven't stolen someone else's work.

You can write content on a specific subject with a clear focus? That doesn't mean your quality is high, it just means you're now doing what tens of thousands of college students and professionals can do.

A high-quality article is an article that changes the way people think, provides fresh ideas, involves scholarly research, challenges what we have assumed to be commonplace, and provokes us to share or discuss. Is that what you can do 15 hrs a day?

If so, then yes, you will generate traffic, especially if you're connecting with other thought leaders and bloggers in your niche, set up on Triberr, and guest-posting.
