Can we use wordpress in home and other directory ?

Is it possible to use wordpress in root directory as well as in blog directory.

Example
Wordpress Example - xyz.com
Wordpress Example - xyz.com/blog

If yes, than please guide me the procedure.

Reason of it -

# Will install 2 different themes for 2 different looks
# Can post 1 product niche in one themes and another niche product in different theme.
# Easy to manage both niches

Why not use sub domains?

Easiest way is to install Wordpress Multisite. Here's a guide:

i think multisite can do that. however not sure if it allows to run in root and subdirectory. However you can run it in /blog1 & /blog2

I'm pretty certain it does. Root will be the main site.
