Yes, adding links from the review page helps a lot. However, make sure you are linking to relevant topics or pages and avoid overdoing it.

I think this would be borderline unethical. The other viewers will see this as comment or review spam. Won't they?

Instead you can collect all good reviews and create a dedicated page "look what users have reviewed about" and add the username and comments. On this page you can blockquote add links whatever you need.
