Can we have the Set Keyword Alerts function/add-on on BHW? I think it is available for vBulletin forum application. The following image is an old image but that's what I could find as an example of my requirement.

If it is available, then it would greatly help members set a keyword alert and can get an automatic email from the site...

For example, I may set a keyword alert on "abracadabra" keyword in a form similar to the one shown in the following image with "email" as my preferred way of getting notified. Then, when some member opens a new thread with the keyword "abracadabra" in the title or the OP, or if a member opens a new post in any existing thread with the same keyword present in the new post, then the forum can send that automatic email to me. It will continue to do whenever new content on BHW has that keyword in it. and will do so until I stop it.

Please see the following image for the add-on Set Keyword Alerts. It is quite an old image though...

Also, if the functionality already exists on BHW, then please help me with the link for it. If it doesn't exists on BHW and it is available for vBulletin and can be installed on BHW, then could we please have it?

Thank you very much!

This would be a great feature for Jr Vips, it would encourage more memberships, for sure.

"review copy" would get completely demolished if that were a feature lol.

Hi OP
Is this functionality available in VBulletin 4? just curious
Thx

No idea... but the image in my OP is from past, so I think the functionality must exist, and it could be well upgraded by now.

Exact same thing came to my mind.
How will "review copy" get completely demolished by that function? I fail to understand the connection, and that thought process... :). Please tell me more about this.

For example: I might put the "Matt Cutts resigns" :D as the keyword (keyPhrase) , and wish to be notified by email if someone mentions "Matt Cutts resigns" in a post. How would "review copy" be connected to the resignation Matt Cutts?

example 2: More relevant:

I want to be notified when someone mentions "send me a review copy"!!! So will that be demolished or whatever else (will happen)?

P.S.:
A solution does exist: Use Google alerts and get a email for the keyword you choose... but the main problem is: that email comes to me only after Google bots comes to the phrase and then whatever process gets activated to send it to my email as an alert... but that takes time, isn't "instant" like the feature. Of course when I open my email I can see the alert... but that's not the point here. The point is to get an instant email alert for me as soon as the keyword set by me is mentioned by a member in his new post.

Now for example, someone is giving away free review copies (lol) for the first 10 members who post on the thread, or with whatever conditions attached to the giveaway, the fastest people will be able to get the alerts only if they have set it, and of course they can get the giveaway if they ask for it in time. But how this will still completely demolish the "review copy" with the feature?

Pro Tip: I do this with IFTTT for thread titles.

If This Then That... IFTTT.com, for BHW thread titles? How? Give me a working example please.

Btw, I would be trying at least 10 keywords to being with as alerts.:)

P.S.:
I have an account there, but I've forgotten my pwd, and the site isn't sending the reset link to me. :(
