Can we get rid of the ******** filter?

For the longest time now the forum has filtered out the word do fol low, I never did understand the reason for this and any potential reason has never really popped into my head in the decade+ since it was censored.

So, can we get that filter removed? If not, is there actually a reason for this word being censored?

I think they were afraid Google would penalize the forum.

I don't understand. Filtered out as in blocked or what. What ever it is though I think there must be a strong reason for that.

I'm assuming we all understand what that specific "rel" attribute link means and the risks of engaging in link spamming.
Now factor in UGC and the impact that has. I.e., the typical spammer isn't worried about our forums' SERP health.
Solution. Ban the exact word so it's not even a consideration. Are there other solutions - possibly - but nothing as concrete.
