my vps is ubuntu 14.04 64 bit.
can wannacry attack it ?
It's a great time to do backups just in case.
It does not attack linux OS, just windows
I know. I meant to do backups just as prevention for anything else.
only Windows os
only windows computers without windows updates were attacked
You're probably safe, but that isn't to say that something upstream from you can't be affected, or the server that your VPS is hosted on. I imagine it's a Linux server hosting your Ubuntu VPS, but it doesn't have to be. You can host a Ubuntu VPS on a Windows server. Just make sure you have backups just in case. Unless you have a really irresponsible VPS provider, you're probably fine.
The systems that operate on the Linux software will not get affect by the ransomware attack. Only the computers based on Microsoft windows operating system gets attacked. So, you're safe now.
only Windows is vulnerable... only windows has always been vulnerable to such shit and people still seem to stick to that shit and refuse to switch over to linux or mac
I am thinking about shifting to linux.
